Iroh's POV
I wasn't paying attention at first but then I realised what she had just said, "I don't think that's the best idea, Y/N."

No reply.

"Y/N?"

I glanced over at her and exhaled.

How on earth did she fall asleep so fast?

It wasn't safe to sleep with her legs dangling over the side of the ship, so I shook her shoulder slightly, "uh- Y/N?"

No reply.

This girl falls into a deep sleep so quickly.

I looked around, feeling myself shuffle in my seat before I pulled myself up and scooped her into my arms.

I gently placed her on one of the beds in one of the soldier's empty rooms.

Darkness had fallen over the city when we arrived, I knocked on the door, "uh- Y/N? We're here."

She didn't reply.

I sighed before opening the door slowly, announcing, "I'm coming in."

To my surprise, she was still resting peacefully on the bed.

She must've been exhausted.

"Uh- Y/N? It's time for us to get going now."

She didn't even react.

I hesitantly made my way over to where she was sleeping and gently shook her shoulder, she rolled over, quietly groaning, but still didn't get up.

"Y/N? Can you please just... get up? We're here and-"

I was interrupted by her stretching out her limbs and yawning, "yeah, yeah- I hear you."

I cleared my throat, "I'll give you a few moments, when you're ready we'll check to see if Lin is working at the moment, if not, we'll return to the ship and try the police station again in the morning."

She nodded, "yeah, okay. I'll be out in a sec."

When we arrived at the police station, Lin was on her way out.

"Chief Beifong."

"General Iroh, what are you doing here?"

Y/N's POV
Chief Beifong was a bit older than Iroh, she had short black hair and a scar on the right side of her face.

"Actually, Lin, I was wondering if we could get some professional advice from you. We're investigating terrorists in the Fire Nation, and it seems that this sort of thing is... uh, not in my skill set."

She paused for a moment before sighing, "come with me."

I didn't really pay much attention to what the two of them were saying- the only thing on my mind was my brother's safety, and I didn't snap back into reality until I heard Iroh stand up from his seat, "thank you, Lin, that was a big help."

As we made our way out of the police station, and through the dark streets of Republic City, Iroh asked, "are you hungry?"

I placed my hand on my stomach, "if I'm honest, I have no idea if it's the hunger or my nerves."

"Well, I doubt it'd hurt for you to eat something, let's get something to eat, my treat."

He led me into a restaurant that was clearly run by folks from the Fire Nation, "good evening, Prince Iroh, what can we do for you today?"

"Could we get a table for two, please?"

"Of course! And who is this beautiful young lady you've brought with you today?"

"Oh, uh- I suppose... she's a friend of mine?"

The man speaking with Iroh raised an eyebrow and looked me up and down before continuing, "Iroh, Iroh, Iroh... you don't bring a girl as gorgeous as she is and tell us she is only your friend."

"But-"

"I will not hear it! Come, miss, let us find the two of you a lovely table away from all of the noise!"

I awkwardly followed him to a table on the other side of the restaurant, secluded by thin silk curtains that draped down from the ceiling.

"Here we are my lovelies! Sit down, relax! Choose something to drink! I will have a waiter over with you soon!"

As the man walked away, Iroh scratched the back of his neck, "I uh- I'm sorry about him, he's an old friend of my mother's, he can be a bit much sometimes."

I waved my hands in front of me, "oh, no! It's fine! Don't worry about it! He seems nice."

"So... what are you gonna get?"
