"Isn't that Viraj?"
Avika's heart skipped a beat only listening to his name. The effect he had on her.
Her gaze followed to the side Trisha's eyes had been fixated and true to her words, Viraj was standing with his friends talking and laughing about something.
"You should go and talk to him," Trisha urged.
Avika gave her a horrified look "Have you lost it? You know we aren't exactly friends, right? And how creepy would it look if I called out his name like that, especially standing from here?"
Trisha looked at her best friend dumbfounded. She didn't understand why a simple hello would make her look like a creep but then again that's what happens when you like someone.
You tend to overthink.
Avika was still contemplating whether she should call him out and say hello or just look at him from afar and be happy like she has always done.
Her contemplations were resolved when she heard him call her name,
"Avika!"
Her eyes widened as the size of the saucer and her heart started to pound harder. She could almost feel the blood rush to her cheeks.
Damn him! For making her feel so tingly and stupid.
"Avika!" he called her again.
Trisha smacked her arm, motioning her to approach him before she embarrassed herself any further. Avika nodded and started to take small steps towards him. It almost felt like an eternity until she stood before him.
"Hey," she said meekly and smiled at him.
A smile she only reserved for him.
"What are you doing here?" he glanced at his watch "It's ten o'clock. Did you come alone?"
She could hear the concern in his voice. Her heart almost melted into a puddle as she saw him look at her with concern filled in his eyes.
Trisha walked towards them and gave Viraj a small smile. She didn't like him, not even one percent but for Avika's sake, she had kept her opinions to herself. For some reason, he seemed like Sania's male version when it came to being oblivious.
"So, you're here with Trisha" Viraj stated.
Avika nodded, smiling.
Trisha looked at her and sighed mentally. She looked whipped. She almost felt an urge to wipe that stupid smile of hers from her face but she resisted.
Why does she have to be so obvious? she thought to herself.
She glanced at Viraj and wondered if he was really blind or was he ignoring the obvious intentionally.
