The next three weeks passed by slowly. Viraj and Avika had grown a little closer since Viraj hadn't befriended anyone until the last week when he joined Rotaract Club and suddenly his personality took a 180 degree hit. He didn't hang out with Avika anymore. He would only acknowledge her with his eyes. If she had to put it in simple words, he pretended to not know her.

If she had to be honest, his sudden change of demeanour didn't surprise her. The same thing had happened two years ago.

She still remembered the day she first saw him like it happened yesterday.

It had been a month since her 9th grade had begun. She was searching for her class teacher in the hallways of the ground floor when she saw Viraj for the first time. She still remembered how her heart had skipped a beat and she knew she had developed a crush on him.

He was her first crush.

He had walked over to her and asked her where 9th A class was. She had not believed her luck back then just like she couldn't believe her luck three weeks ago when he said he was in the same class as hers.

Even two years ago, he had spent the first few weeks as her friend and her bench partner but as soon as he made new friends in school he changed his seats with someone else and stopped acknowledging her publicly. Initially, she was hurt by his sudden change of demeanor but as he slowly got the star athlete and star student reputation, she understood why he didn't want anything to do with her.

After all she was just a normal girl to him.

So now that the history was repeating itself again she wasn't hurt if at all she was happy for him. Now she knew that he wanted to be popular and recognised by everyone something he couldn't be if he hung out with her.

As for the admin office guy she hadn't even found a trace of him after the identity card incident so thanking him was still miles away. On the day of the incident she had hoped, she would get a chance to talk to him and thank him but her hopes were crushed when she heard the lady in the office say that he would have to stay back in office for a long time since his details were messed up and he had to resubmit few documents which would take forever.

She had expected to see him the next day in the college and if not next at least some other day but in the past three weeks she hadn't spotted him even once. She wondered if he was one of those guys who only attended college when there was anything important.

She let out a deep sigh and walked out of her room. She saw Aarohi sitting on the couch and colouring in her colouring book. Avika's lips curled slowly into a smile. She couldn't help but remember her own childhood when she would sit in the living room with her crayons sprawled on the couch whilst she would colour the pictures without any distraction.
