tw: physical abuse.

"nini?"

the little girl hid in the closet, letting out silent breaths of fear as she tried to stay brave for her mom, seeing movement through the cracks of the cupboard doors

"i'm not going to hurt you."

"danny don't touch her!" the woman pleaded with a scream from the ground, too weak to stand

she heard a dark laughter coming from her father, who just shook his head

"come out come out."

and that's when she saw the closet doors swing open

the small girl hears the door slam.

"neens, go to the closet and stay there until i come and get you." the kind woman says in a soft voice.

"but mommy-"

"honey everything is going to be fine okay?"

the small girl nods slowly as the young woman wraps her arms around her and carries her to the closet.

"now you stay right there until i come and get you."

the fragile eight-year old nods and says "i love you mommy."

"i love you too sweetheart."

grunts, shouting and screaming echoes around the small girl's ears and grows louder once the room door bursts open

"danny please!"

"shut up!"

the small girl cries quietly as she hears her mother scream in pain at the contact of the man's hand and fists at her skin

she looks around to see if she can help her mother and spots a small silver pistol. picking it up, it's quite heavy in her small, delicate hands but she needs to help her mother.

the brunette child points the gun through the gap and the mother sees

"nini help me!"

*BANG*

"welcome to your foster home nini," the kind woman said with a smile as she held her husband's hand

"t-thank you." the thirteen-year old girl said

the woman held the little girl's hand as her husband brought the suitcases inside the house, the little girl looking around in awe at how homey it seemed.

"finally you're back,"

the little girl looked at the staircase to see an older teenage boy walking down the steps, stopping suddenly when seeing the girl

"noah, this is nini," the woman beamed "honey, this is noah. you're foster brother."

the older, sixteen-year old boy grinned at the girl, making her look down in slight embarrassment as he walked down and shook her hand

"nice to meet you nini,"

"stop it please."

"oh come on," the boy smirked

"noah." she pleaded trying to push him off of her, but he was too strong

"maybe you'd want me to tell mom and dad everything that's happened and how you killed someone?"

the girl froze at the sound of those words and her heart dropped, her stomach lurching even more

"you took my book?!,"

"i'm sorry-"

"shut up!"

the girl felt a burning pain on the side of her face as she dropped to the ground, her eyes stinging with tears as she shuddered a breath

all of a sudden, another pain in the side of her stomach is felt and she falls to the ground further, wincing

"p-please-"

the boy grabbed her hair and pulled it upwards, causing for her to yell with pain as she forcefully stands up, seeing the boy's face

"n-noah-"

the boy solely grinned and let go of her, making the girl stumble back and fall on her knees to the ground from weakness and pain

"remember what i told you." he spat "you tell anyone about this, and i tell everyone you're a murderer. and then we'll see who will want you and your worthlessness."

she felt her heart freeze and nodded silently, her foster brother leaving her bedroom and slamming her door shut as she stayed in the corner, bringing her knees up to her chest and finally letting her tears fall.

nini gasped awake as she sat up, her whole body shaking and her cheeks stained with tears as she let out short, shaken breaths

she frustratedly got out of her bed and walked slowly to her vanity mirror, staring at her reflection that was only illuminated by the moonlight shining through her bedroom.

glancing down at her black sweatshirt, she slowly lifted it up to see small scars and bruises that had been there for years, letting out a small breath as she examined them.

"it's all in the past." she whispered to herself before going back to her bed and lying back, but her mind was too preoccupied to go back to sleep.
