"𝙞 𝙘𝙖𝙣'𝙩!"
ricky and nini have had their ups and downs this past year and a half, but as they finally think they have their happy endin...
ricky and nini walked down the darkened sidewalk hand-in-hand in a comfortable silence, nini wondering what ricky was wanting to show her.
he quickly stopped and lead her towards the middle of the road and she looked at him confused before seeing a smirk on his face, the girl shaking her head
"oh, no. no no no way," she says, making her way back to the sidewalk while ricky chuckles and rushes over to her
"do you trust me?" he asks
nini looked at him and slowly nodded before glancing at the road and he brought her to the middle of the road, the both of them sitting down and lying back, staring at the night sky
"if we get run over and die i'm going to come back to life and kill you." nini sighs, resting her head on his shoulder
he laughed softly as he kept his eyes on the sky and smiled "you're impossible."
"why do you do this anyway?" she asks "i thought it was just one of your dumb things you did to ask me out."
ricky looked down at her "hey, my ways to ask you out were not dumb."
nini laughs lightly "okay,"
he shakes his head with a small grin before taking a deep breath and shrugging his shoulders
"i don't know, it's just i used to do this when i was little." he says simply
nini hums "so you had a death wish ever since then,"
he laughs and shakes his head "no, i just liked the excitement. and the fact that you had the good view of the sky and the buildings and trees. it's just all put together i guess."
nini looks up at him and he glances back at her, seeing a smile on her face.
"what?" he asks
she shrugs her shoulders "i like this ricky bowen,"
he smiled warmly at her before leaning in to press his lips against hers softly and gently, nini smiling against him before they pull away and hear a car coming.
the car honks loudly and nini screams as ricky and her scramble up from the floor and rush to the sidewalk, just making it out of the way before the car drove past them
"oh my god!" nini breathes, letting out a shaky laugh as she leaned against the wall while ricky let out a breath of relief
she looked up at his worried face and let out another whole-hearted laugh as she pointed at him, ricky shaking his head as he tried to fight a smile of his own from forming.
"okay, we need to get you home," he says
once she calmed down, nini exhaled deeply and pushed herself off of the wall, taking his hand
"you're face was priceless," she giggles
"you like to make fun of me don't you?" he asks, nini nodding vigorously with a smirk as they continued their way back to her house.

nini entered the house once ricky dropped her off and saw her moms in the living room, making her way inside to give them a quick kiss goodnight as they watched the news.
she felt her heart clench and her stomach turn when she saw that there was a recent story on a foster home in san francisco; a girl being found bruised and dangerously hurt in her bedroom.
she took in a shaky breath and her memories of her past life were coming back, her heart rate increasing just at the thought of it all.
"you alright honey? you look pale." carol says softly
nini turned to look at her and took a deep breath, putting on a small smile as she shook her head.
"i'm fine. just tired. see you tomorrow morning." she says quietly, making her way up the stairs and into her bedroom as she closed the door and leaned back against it.
thought her eyes snapped open when she could've sworn she saw a glimpse of another familiar figure out on the street of her window...
