1 in a half months later....
No ones Pov:
It's around 6 in the morning and everyone was asleep until Lexies alarm went off which meant it was time for work. She woke up Mark then went to Madelines room to wake her up. Madeline didn't want to wake up but she had school her first day of school. Lexie got ready and then made breakfast for all of them, Mark was upstairs making the bed and Madeline was getting ready to look presentable because she wanted to be liked by the people in her new school. Since it was summer she had to wear a skirt and a white polo shirt but she wore her white Champion hoodie on top of it, she put her nike air force 1s on then did light makeup and her hair was down and curled. After she got ready she got her book bag and went downstairs.
Madelines Pov:
"Morning" I said filling up my water bottle. "Good Morning" Mark and Lexie said sitting down at the table. "Come have some bacon and pancakes no eggs though-" Mom said before I cut her off. "Because I'm allergic I know" I say sitting down. "You never make breakfast though" I say confused. "Well today I had time so I made some are you going to eat or not" Mom said. I roll my eyes and go next to Mark. "I'm tired" I said. "Hi tired I'm Mark" Mark said teasing me. "Shut up" I said. Mom laughed "You think that's funny" Mark said. "Yes I do" Mom said as she washed the dishes. Mark goes over to her and kisses her. "I don't need to this so let's go" I say going upstairs to brush my teeth.
We all get out of the house and go to the car. "Maddie do you have everything we aren't coming back" Mom said. "Yes I have everything" I said. The car ride was pretty quiet Mark would say something here and there until I got to the school. "Your sister is here already" Mark said. "That's great" I said getting out. "Bye mom, Bye Mark" I say closing the door.
She walks into the school and texts Sofia
Maddie 🥸🤍: Where are you I'm here already
Sofia 🙄💖: I'm in the cafeteria come here
Maddie 🥸🤍: Ok I see you
"Maddie" Sofia says hugging me. "This is my sister Maddie, Maddie this Gabby and Sarah" Sofia introduces me to her friends. "Hi" the girls all said. Then I feel a tap on on my shoulder. "You could've said hi you know" Nick says as I jump into his arms. "Nick I didn't see you but I would've said hi" I say. "Whatever who are they" Nick asks. "That's my sister Sofia you know her and her friends Gabby and Sarah" I say. "Hi I'm Nick" Nick said as the two girls looked like they wanted to kiss him in every way possible. "What's your schedule Maddie" Nick asked. I took out my schedule and we all saw our classes. I ended up having most of my classes with Nick and Gabby I had dance, Italian, and Math with Sofia and I only had Dance with Sarah. Nick, me, Gabby and Sofia were all in gifted but Sarah was the only one in advanced which explains why I only one class with her.
The bell rings which means it's time for first period that I had with Nick "Let's go" Nick said. "Bye guys" I say as I walk out with Nick.
Sofias Pov:
When Maddie and Nick left we started talking "Your sister is friends with him" Sarah said emphasizing on the 'him'. "Yeah I know" I say. "Most of the girls in this school are all over him though" Gabby said. "He isn't with any of them though" I say. "He might like your sister you know" Gabby said looking at me. "Because he could have any girl that wants him" Gabby added. "They are like best friends so I doubt it but maybe I don't know and I really don't care too much, she is pretty, nice, and well any boy will be lucky to have her" I said. "That's nice my sister would never say that about me she just calls me a rat and to close her door" Sarah said and we all died laughing. The girls all went their separate ways to their classes.

Back at the hospital
Lexies Pov:
Mark and Lexie are in the E.R talking to April and Owen when a little girl comes in. "Hey sweetie where are your parents" I ask getting down to her level. The little girl shrugs her shoulders. "Ok what's your name" I ask. "Hailey" She says very quietly. "Hailey I am Doctor Grey let's get you on a bed" I say as I pick her up and place her on the bed. "Ow" Hailey says. "What's wrong" I ask. "It hurts" Hailey says still quiet. "Ok let me check you out" I say putting up the Haileys shirt to see bruised ribs. "Um ok let me change you into this gown if you're comfortable with that" I say as Hailey nods her head 'yes'. I change her and lay her on the bed and close the curtains. "What happened" April asked. "Her name is Hailey and she has bruises all over the place and her ribs are bruised she has a few cuts" I say. "Her parents just dropped her off" I add. "Do I call a social worker" April asks. "Yes" I respond. "Ok" April says dialing the number. "I'm gonna go check on her" I say going to Hailey. "So did your parents drop you off" I ask. Hailey nods yes. "Ok Hailey are you hungry" I ask. Hailey nods yes again. "Let me get you some food do you want someone to keep you company" I ask. Hailey nods yes. "Ok let me get my... Mark" I say. "Mark come here" I yell. Mark comes "what" "Keep Hailey company while I come back with food" I say. "Ok" Mark said coming and opening the curtain.
Marks Pov:
Lexie had left and it was only Hailey and me. "So what do you like to do Hailey" I ask. "I don't know" she whispered. "Ok well I like surgery do you know what that is" I ask. She shook her head 'no'. "Surgery is when you open people up and fix them for them to feel better" I explain with very few details to not scare her. Hailey looks down and a tear rolls down her cheek. "Hey look at me what's wrong" I ask wiping the tear of her face. "My this hurts" Hailey says pointing to her ribs. "Can I see" I ask. "Mhm" She responds as I pull up part of her gown revealing her very bruised ribs. I open the curtain and tell April "Page Torres." Callie comes in less than 5 minutes "What do we have" Callie asks. "Little girl dropped off has very bruised ribs parents possibly.... abused her" I say which makes Callies smile fade. "Ok let's check it out" Callie said opening the curtains and closing them.
"Hi Hailey I'm Doctor Torres Can you point to where it hurts" Callie asks. No response or nod from Hailey "She is here to help you're okay" I say. Hailey points to her ribs and says "This hurts a lot" very quiet but she understood. "Ok let's get that checked out for you" Callie says seeing the bruises and cuts. "Ok I need to get her up to get an x-ray are you coming" Callie asks. "Yeah let me tell Lexie" I say.
Me: Hi so Callie wants to take Hailey up for an x-ray so come here when you get her food.
Lexie: Ok I'll be there in a bit, wait do you think she'll like chocolate or vanilla
Me: Lexie kids usually like chocolate
Lexie: Maddie actually doesn't like chocolate so that's why I was asking
Me: Get both just in case
Lexie: Good idea
Callie and I go to the x-ray room. "Ok Hailey I need you to be still we need to take some pictures" Callie said. Hailey nods 'yes' and stays still the whole way till they're done. "Dr. Sloan her room is ready" The nurse said. They take her on a wheel chair to the room and she lays down on the bed. Lexie comes in about a minute later "I went to x-ray to the E.R and then a nurse told me you were here" Lexie said. "Anyways here you go sweetie I didn't know which one so choose whichever you want" Lexie added. "Thank you" Hailey whispered. "You're welcome well I have to go into surgery I'll be back in a few hours" Lexie said. "Bye Lex" I say kissing her quickly before she ran off.
