Chapter 11

It's later that day around 10 pm

Lexies Pov:

I got out of surgery but knew that Hailey was going into surgery so I had to go see her. When I get to Haileys room a resident is prepping her for surgery. "Dr. Grey I don't think we ordered a neuro consult" the resident said confused when she gets cut off by Hailey. "Dr. Grey you came" Hailey said with a smile. "Of course I came" I said. "And how much times do I need to tell you to call me Lexie" I say sitting down next to Haileys bed. "I'm shy to call you Lexie" Hailey said. "Why" I asked. "How should I know" Hailey said then giggled. "Your the one that's shy to call me that so I thought you would know" I said smiling when Jo came in. "Ok so we have to do surgery for the minor bleeding in the abdomen" Jo said looking at me. "Um yeah ok I'll be here in the morning to see you ok" I told Hailey. "Ok bye Lexie" Hailey said I smiled and left the room as Hailey was being rolled out of the room.

Madelines Pov:

I'm waiting for Lexie and Mark to go home. I'm is sitting at a table finishing up some syllabus that my teachers gave me. Mom walks in "Maddie hey let's go" Mom said. "Mom it took you long enough" I said as mom rolled her eyes and grabbed her stuff while I got mine. "Let's go Mark is waiting outside" I said. "Of course he is" I said. "Are you mad at him" Mom asked. "No he just knows about Nick and probably won't let me hang out with him as much because well he's stricter than you" I said. "He's not more strict than me" Mom says. "Ok yes he is" Mom gave in. We go outside and see Mark with the car on. "You guys take forever" Mark said impatiently. I roll my eyes and go into the car. "So how was your first day of being a sophomore" Mom asks. "It was ok" I said Mom and Mark looked at each other like if they were talking with their eyes. It was a silent car ride other than Mark and Moms looks and nods and mhms until they got home.

When I got out I put the pin in to open the door and went up running up to my room. I wanted to cut I felt like I needed to cut but couldn't find a blade but the way I left I knew mom would come check in on me so I went to the bathroom. Then a minute later I heard a knock to what I thought was mom but no it was Mark. "Hey everything alright in there" Mark asked. "Yeah everything is fine I just needed to pee and couldn't hold it" I lied. "Um ok well um I'm here to talk if you need to" Mark said. "Yeah you said that already months ago at the hospital" I said. "I know but I just want to make sure you're ok" Mark said. "I am I just needed to pee" I lied again. "Ok" Mark said.

When I heard the door of my room close I came out of the bathroom crying quietly like I used too. I then remembered Sofia was sketching last week upstairs. I went upstairs and went through Sofias pouch and there I found a sharpener. I broke the sharpener hurting my fingers to take the blade out after 10 minutes I finally got it out. I got the blade and pressed it to my skin then slid it which caused a cut I felt relieved but I didn't stop after one I couldn't so I kept going causing eight cuts on my left wrist and five on my right wrist I was bleeding not to bad so it dried up while I cleaned up the plastic and put it in the trash the blade I kept in my desk. After I cleaned everything up I got my hoodie and put it on for my cuts not to show. Then when I lied down it hit me I had relapsed and started crying again but then I heard a knock on my door. "Maddie is everything ok in here" Mom asked. "Yeah I'm just scrolling on tiktok" I lied. "Can I come in" Mom asked I wiped my tears with my sleeves and pulled them down and switched my lights to green. "Yeah" I responded then mom came in. "Doesn't this color hurt your eyes" Mom asked with Mark right behind her. "No it doesn't I like it" I lied again I hated this color. "So..." I said. "Fine I'm sorry for blabbing out you have a boyfriend when you really don't or you might be lying and that's actually your boyfriend" Mark said which caused mom to hit him on the shoulder. "It's ok your just overprotective and I'm not used to it" I said. "Well get used to it because I'm not letting boys near you yet" Mark said. "Yeah sure" I said. "I'm being serious I will scare them off" Mark said as he said that a notification that said Nick 🤍 came up. "A heart" Mark asked. "Yeah" I said mom was just sitting there quietly to not pick sides. "Mom he's just being annoying at this point" I complained. "Just a bit but you asked for a dad and here you received" Mom joked. "She loves having me as a dad right Mads" Mark asked. "Yeah I actually wanted to know when can you take me to get my nails done" I asked. "Tomorrow I'm not on call" Mark said. "Ok thanks d- Mark" I said and blushed but no one can see because of the green lights. "Ok well good night get some sleep for tomorrow" Mom said kissing my forehead. "Good night Mads sleep" Mark said he then closed the door and I put on my red lights my pjs and my airpods with my sad playlist and I cried a lot. Just thinking about my relapse makes me cry it wasn't good and what would I tell my parents or just not tell them I fell asleep with my thoughts.
