"Why did you kill him?!" Kaira was now angry with the workers.
No one spoke for awhile. Two minutes later, Ethan stepped up.
"Have you not heard the news? Everyone in the City is killing off the Exos."
"That's terrible! Why kill them?!"
"They are machines, and we need the population to dwindle every so often."
Kaira rose Huckleberry, but Crow stopped her before she could fire.
"You're sick." Kaira told the workers.
"Hey, if you want to help them, they all usually live in underground. But you'll die with them."
Kaira walked off. Crow gave the workers all a look, then followed Kaira over to a bench. She looked frustrated. Glint appeared after a couple minutes.
"What're we going to do?" Glint asked Crow.
Crow, not being used to making decisions, thought for a minute.
"We need to protect the Exos, and get the Vanguard to this." Crow replied.
"The Vanguard don't do anything." Kaira added.
Crow sat down for another minute.
"Kaira, if the Vanguard won't help, then we'll have to." Crow picked Kaira up off the bench.
-HOURS LATER----
Crow and Kaira walked into the City Underground. It was almost entirely inhabited by Exos.
"I think you should do the talking." Crow whispered to Kaira.
"I always do. But sure." Kaira walked over to an Exo.
"Can I help you?" The Exo asked, carrying a box.
"We're Guardians, we heard of the racial acts against the Exos and wanted to know if there was someone in charge around here." Kaira said.
"Uhm..yeah, we call him our protector. He's up there." The Exo pointed up to a room up some stairs.
Kaira and Crow opened the door to the room to find Saint-14.
"Saint?" Both Crow and Kaira said.
"Ahh! Guardians! Are you here to help us?" Saint said, holding his arms out like he always does.
"Yes." Crow stood up.
Saint put his hand on Crow's shoulder.
"I'm glad you're making a name for yourself, Crow." Saint told him.
"I'm just trying to do my part." Crow replied.
"Ok. Well, our main goal to become part of society again is to show that we are people. Any ideas?" Saint sat down in his chair.
"We should take some hostages to show Exos are not to be messed with." Kaira suggested.
"We should not resort to hurting the people of the City. We're Guardians, were meant to protect." Saint replied.
"Kaira and I can find who is truly responsible for these acts. I think theirs a higher power to this instead of just racist civilians." Crow added.
"Well, there is one man who claims to be the "leader of their cause". He lives in the Core." Saint said.
"Ok then, we'll be heading for the Core." Kaira picked up her gear and she and Crow left for the Core.
