As a young girl I loved the thought of being a dancer. The make up, perfumes, countless admirers, and the beauty of the art. I couldn't imagine doing anything other than dancing. My heart screamed for pounding beat of the music. It did something to me that I couldn't control. Dancing was like breathing in fresh air that sent adrenalin pumping through my veins. It was my life, my passion, my drug.
I turned on the stereo and started playing Welcome to Burlesque by Cher. I started swaying my hips to the sound of the drums. I used my coffee table as a prop and placed a healed foot atop of it. I traced my body sexily with my hands and flipped my hair. I walked over to a small chair started dancing around it. My heart beat quickened as the beat picked up. I made my movements stronger, harder, and sexier. The song came to an end and held one arm in the air and brought the other behind my head. I glanced at the mirrored wall to look at myself. I couldn't help but smile. I looked sexy and dangerous. My black cropped spiked corset hugged my breast gave them that extra push and with black leather pants and spike heals, I know I would have the judges' attention.
I grabbed my trench coat off the coat rack as I headed out the door and made my way to the auditions. Today was going to be the day that I made it into the big world. I was tired of working at a stupid restaurant as a waitress. It wasn't paying the bills and far to bland for me.
As I walked along the street people stared at me. I would smile back politely but keep my head high. A few men whistled as I passed, and I winked in response. I felt great! Rejuvenated! I had never felt more...
I never got to finish that thought before the car and I made impact.
