Shannon's POV

"Shannon are you okay?" Daisy asked looking back at me.

"Yeah I'm fine," I lied. The truth is I was far from fine. I was angry, worried, hurt, anxious, and scared. What was I going to do when I saw her? What was I going to say? What was she going to say? With each passing second my heart grew heavy, and traffic couldn't have picked a worse night causing me to add irritation to the list of emotions I was currently feeling. Instead of it taking ten minutes it took 30.

When we finally arrived in front of the apartment complex, I jumped out of the car before it came to a complete stop and ran into the building.

"Raven! Raven!"

"Would you stop yelling? People are tying to sleep," A woman said sticking her head out into the hallway.

"Do you know a woman named Raven? She has long black hair, black eyes, and wings tattooed on her back.

"Oh yeah. I've seen her. She lives on the third floor. Last door on the right."

"Thank you!" I shouted before running down the hall and up the stairs. I didn't even know if Talia and Daisy were behind me, but I had to get to Raven. There was a sinking feeling in the pit of my gut. Something wasn't right.

I was running on pure adrenaline. I got to the door and tried opening it but knob wouldn't turn. I then banged on the door feverishly. "Raven, open the door!" I cried tears were finally streaming down my face.

"Raven please! Open the door it's Shannon!" I stopped for a moment to listen and I could hear the sound of running water.

I threw myself against the barrier repeatedly doing more damage to my shoulder than the door.

"Raven! Please!" There was crowd of people gathering in the hallway, but I didn't care. I kept charging at the door. I backed up taking a deep breath and put all of my weight and force into it.

The door finally gave way and opened. I ran inside following the sound of her shower. I got to the bathroom and saw her limp body laying in the shower in a white dress with a needle in her hand and an empty bottle of heroin.

"Raven. Raven, please." Soon I was in the shower pressing my fingers to her neck. She had a slight pulse which meant we had a small chance to save her.

I looked up to see Talia standing in the bathroom wide eyed and tears streaming down her face.

"Call 911!" I ordered.

"The ambulance doesn't come to this side of town Shannon. We have to take her ourselves." Daisy's voice was weak and cracked, but she remained calm.

I picked Raven up and rushed her out of the apartment. "Raven, you're going to be ok. Everything is going to be fine. I promise," I whispered as I went down the stairs three at a time.

Daisy ran ahead of me and opened the backdoor. I quick got with Raven cradled in my arms. I kissed her wet hair, her temples, her cheek, and finally her lips. The lips that had once been so full of color were now gray and lifeless.

"I'm sorry I didn't stay. Raven, if you can hear me please hang on," I pleaded. I placed my face in the crook of her neck and held her tight. "Please."

I looked up for a brief moment to see her eyes flutter slightly.
