Shannon's POV
I laid on the bed and stared aimlessly at the ceiling. Talia had called three times and left two voicemails but I didn't want to distract myself. I had finally gotten Raven out of my head and I didn't want a reminder.
I called Tomo and talked to him for a while to see how things were on his end. He assured me things were fine, but he seemed distant. It was a quick call, but I guess it was better than nothing.
I got on my laptop and began to look at the possible places again when my phone started ringing. I looked at the screen to see Talia's number across it. I hit ignore and continued my research. Seconds later it began to ring again, but this time I let it ring. When it stopped for a minute or so I assumed she was done trying to talk to me, but I couldn't have been more wrong.
Text messages began to pop up on the screen one after another screaming at me to go to Jax's. I grew annoyed placed the on silent then took it into the other room. I finally had peace and quiet.
I continued looking at buildings for sale in various places then the room phone began to ring. I angrily got up and answered it.
"Stop ignoring me and get down here!" Talia's enraged voice rang over the phone.
"That's the last place-"
"What if I told you I could get you another chance with Raven?" Talia interrupted.
I didn't know how to respond.
"Shannon please! Even if you don't want anything to do with Raven come for me, please! I'm ready to kill Jax, and you're the only one that I can share my pain with. Shannon, please."
I hesitated. I didn't want anything to do with Jax or Raven anymore, but I guess I couldn't say the same for Talia. She was truly a friend that understood and felt the same way.
"Fine," I finally said.
"Thank you so much! I love you!" She made kissing noises over the phone and hung up.
I sighed and put the phone back on the receiver. Then went to get dressed.
***
Once I arrived Talia ran into my arms.
"You have no idea how much this means to me!" She kissed me on the cheek and led me to the bar. She already smelled strongly of liquor, but that didn't stop her from ordering another drink. There were a lot more guys here than what I last saw, so publicity must have been going well for them.
I sat next to her with my back to the stage and head resting on the counter. There was a sudden flash of light and I quickly looked up to see Talia smiling at me devilishly.
"Did you just take a picture of me?"
She shrugged and drank her whiskey down. I watched her skeptically, but she didn't do anything else.
"Alright, gentlemen! Let me get your attention!" Jax called over the mic. "As you know tonight is a special night! We are auctioning off these beautiful ladies for the night!"
I turned to look at the stage. There were twenty or more girls up there, but none of them were Raven. A sudden burst of relief went through me, and I turned back to the bar.
"Raven! There she is!" A man shouted and they all went crazy.
I turned to see her standing by the door. Her cheeks were flushed and her hair was wild as if she had been running. Our eyes locked for a long time before Jax stepped in front of her. Jax then escorted her to the stage where she stood with the other girls.
"Well looks like 24 lucky men will get to spend the night with these sexy little things!" There was slight irritation in his voice, but he kept a smile on. "Okay gents, heres the rules. One girl per guy, you must use a condom, do not beat or bruise them, and they go to the highest bidder!" Jax looked down at the wild men. He seemed partially happy and angry at the same time.
Raven and I made eye contact. Her face looked hopeful and pleading.
"Daisy! Why aren't you up here? Get that pretty little ass of yours on stage! Make that 25 boys!"
Talia was suddenly rushing to the stage. She said something to Jax which he apparently ignored because she jump on to the stage and took the mic from him. She handed it to a girl, Venus I think her name was, and began to snap at him.
"Hey Talia! Why don't you auction yourself off?" I heard a man say.
Jax took the mic from Venus and laughed. "She a feisty one! Are you sure you want her?" Jax teased, and the men went wild once again. Jax gave Talia a wicked grin. "Let's start with Daisy. Let's say... $500 she still has her precious little innocents too." Jax groped her breast causing her to blush bright read.
Talia was saying something to Jax enraged but he ignored her.
A rather large man raised his hand. He was sweating profusely and could stand to loose a hundred pounds or so. I moved my way closer to the crowd, but stayed back as much as possible.
Ravens gaze zoned on me at the same time Talia's did. Talia's face was pleading.
"Please," she mouthed.
I wasn't going to but my conscience began to get the best of me. I couldn't let that poor girl end up with some crazed man.
The bidding was at $750 now. "$800," I shouted. Jax looked straight at me with hatred.
"$800, do I hear $850?"
The large man raised his hand.
"$900," I said. It was much more than I wanted to pay for and not only that but it was for the wrong girl.
"$950!"
I began to get irritated and almost gave up when Talia looked at me again with horror in her eyes.
"$1500," I said hoping to stop this.
"$1600!"
"$2000!" The room fell silent as they all turned to look at me. I looked at Raven and her face was hurt.
"$2000 going once. Going twice. Sold," Jax said none to happily. Jax whispered something in Daisy's ear and she slowly made her way down to me. She took my hand and guided me to the back corner of the building.
