Percy pinned her to the lockers. The bell had rung just a few minutes ago and the hallway was fully empty. Percy smirked as he saw the beautiful, stormy grey eyes looking up at him. He pushed himself closer to her. Her cheeks flushed red as she mumbled something out.
"What was that, sweetheart?" Percy whispered, into her ear.
"Get off me," she replied a little louder.
"No, I'm rather comfortable. Aren't you?"
"No, which is why I'm telling you to get off."
"Well, it doesn't seem like you hate it."
Annabeth's cheeks turned even darker. Her body betrayed her yet again. Normally, if any guy had done this to her, she would be walking away after leaving the boy with a broken nose. But, this wasn't just any guy. This was Percy Jackson. Her best friend since she was 12. So, sue her if she started to develop feelings for him. It was evident that he did too. The only problem in this story was that Annabeth dearest was in denial. She didn't seem to want to admit that she liked Percy. Very much. She also refused to believe that she was lucky enough for Percy to like her.
Percy was trying to convince her that she had feelings for him and that she belonged to him. Not that he didn't belong to her. His heart, body and soul was devoted to her since they were 13 and Percy for the first time looked at a girl in that way. It may sound cringey, but it's true. For Percy, Annabeth's existence drove him crazy. From her grey eyes to the smell of lemons that always surrounded her.
Percy realized that Annabeth actually liked him when the two had kissed each other when they were hanging out in Percy's room. They both were watching a movie, and Percy lost control. But, instead of pushing him away, like he expected her to, she pulled him closer. Percy was ecstatic. He was a little dissapointed when Annabeth pretended nothing happened the next day, but he knew she liked him so he wasn't very bothered. He decided that he was going to make sure that she could call him his boyfriend, even if it was the last thing he was going to do.
He put his forehead on her shoulder, leaving light kisses on her neck. Annabeth's arms went around his neck. He smirked
"Perce, we need to get to class."
"We can skip."
"No, we cannot."
"C'mon, Wise Girl, you have straight A grades. You can afford to miss one class."
"I can, but you can't Seaweed Brain. Now stop doing that and let's get to class."
"It's fine. As long as you're here, I'll be fine. You can tutor me."
Annabeth rolled her eyes. She wanted to argue, but she couldn't concentrate very well with Percy teasing her like that. If you ask her why she didn't want to date Percy, she had a very simple, cliche reason. She was scared.
She didn't want to lose Percy. She loved him too much for that. They were now 17, and they would soon go to college. Her parents had a very messy divorce. It happened when Annabeth was barely seven. She was a little kid, with no real understanding of love. But, it was enough to scare the wits out of her. Her parents never even talked anymore. She barely saw her mother, who went to Greece after the divorce.
Percy grunted, expecting an answer from Annabeth. When Annabeth nodded, he grinned and grabbed her hand. They headed to the roof of the building, where people rarely came. Thankfully, they didn't run into any teachers. They sat against a wall, with Annabeth on Percy's lap.
Percy pulled out a plastic bag. In it were the one thing on this earth that was worth living for. Other than Annabeth, of course. His mom's blue cookies. Annabeth laughed with glee and pulled the cookies from his hand and began shoving them into her mouth. Percy grabbed one and bit into it, watching Annabeth's eyes light up with joy as she ate the heavenly goodness that was his mom's cookies. She had a couple of crumbs around her mouth, yet she looked divine. Not surprisingly, Percy kissed her.
She tasted like cookies which made him kiss her even harder. Annabeth remained unresponsive. Percy turned her so that she was now straddling him. Annabeth pulled away. Percy, however, didn't stop. He moved onto her neck sucking and biting her skin. Annabeth pushed him away. He stopped and stared at her.
Her eyes were swirling with emotions. He couldn't identify them properly.
"What's wrong, Anna?"
Annabeth just stared at him. She didn't know what to do. What was wrong? She had never felt happier. Every time Percy kissed her, she was in a state of euphoria. She never felt happier, at least, as far as she could remember.
"I'm scared, Perce."
"About what?"
"I don't want to lose you."
"And, you won't Anna. I promise."
"But what if we break up? Then we won't talk or meet each other."
"Who says we'll break up?"
"We're going to be going to college in very soon, Perce."
"You're point being? We can visit each other over the weekends, or even go to the same college. Granted I'll probably not get into the same college seeing your a smart-ass."
"Percy! I'm serious!"
"We'll be fine, Wise Girl. And even if, Gods forbid, we do break up, we'll be friends. I promise."
Annabeth grinned at him. She wasn't fully convinced, but she felt too happy being around him to disagree. She leaned forward and kissed him. Percy smiled and pulled her closer.
And so, they spent the next half an hour eating cookies and talking and kissing. Annabeth would learn that she hadn't made a mistake. While, it was a possibility they would break up, perhaps after college, Annabeth didn't mind. The future could wait. She was having too much fun enjoying the present.

Hey. I'm sorry for the half-assed attempt at a one-shot, but hey, it seemed like a good idea.
