Okay, first there are a few things you need to know before you read this.
1. This is a one shot. AU, they're not demigods. Annabeth doesn't live in San Francisco. She doesn't live close to Percy but still lives in New York.
2. They're best friends. Not
boyfriend-girlfriend..... Yet.
Now, on with the story.
Oh, and it's in Annabeth's POV
I sneaked down into the kitchen and grabbed a few granola bars. And chocolate, no one can forget chocolate. I made myself a sandwich and headed up to my room. I put the bars and chocolate in a bag along with some of my clothes. I finished my sandwich and changed into jeans and an orange t-shirt and put on a jacket. I took some money, enough to get a taxi to Percy's house and grabbed my backpack. My room was on the the first floor. I jumped out and ran. Not looking back once.
As you all probably realised, I'm running away. My 'family' ignores me way too much for it to be bearable. Which is why I decided to go to Percy's house. That's the only place that actually fells like home these days. I got into a taxi and told him Percy's address
Once the car started, I plugged in my earphones, listening music and ate my chocolate. Delicious. I slowly dozed off, only waking up when the driver shook me awake when we reached our destination. I thanked him and got out the taxi.
Once I reached Percy's apartment, I headed up the stairs to his house. It was quite late, or should I say early, and I doubt they'll be awake. I began to doubt my actions. I can't just barge into their house! I can't bother them with my problems! I started to move away when me, being my clumsy self, tripped over the damn doormat and hit my head on the door. I groaned. There goes my 'not trying to wake up the Jacksons' idea.
Sally opened the door. I rubbed head and said, "Hey, Sally. I know it's a little late and I probably.... no, definitely disturbed you. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to. I'm so sor-"
Sally cut me off with a hug.
"Oh, honey, you don't have to worry. There's nothing wrong with coming to our house at around five in the morning. I'm guessing something happen at home?" She said.
"Yeah. I'm sorry, Sally. I didn't mean to barge in. It's just that my stepmom is just so.... Irritating!"
Sally took me inside and then made me a cup of hot chocolate. She sat on the couch along with me and hugged and comforted me. I couldn't control my tears then. I wish I had a mom, or dad for that matter, like Sally. Then again, who wouldn't want a mom like Sally.
I don't know how much time later, Sally shouted, "Percy! Wake up! Annabeth's here!"
I heard a series of thumps and a loud groan. There's was a loud footsteps, like someone was running down the stairs. I laughed. Seaweed Brain.
"Annabeth! What happened?" Percy said, hugging me.
"Hey, Seaweed Brain. Nothing happened. I'm just staying here for a few days."
"Wise Girl, what are you not telling me?"
"It's fine, Percy. Besides, Sally comforted me. I'm perfectly fine. Now, I'm tired. So I'm going to go sleep. Good night."
"Wise Girl! You can't just not tell me anything! Hey! Annie! Wait up! I'm coming! I also want to sleep!"
"Don't call me that!" I shouted.
I chuckled and lied down on the bed, wrapping the blanket around me. Soon enough, Percy joined me and we both cuddled and fell asleep.

"Hey, Wise Girl! We're going out. Dress up nice!" Percy said, that evening, grinning.
"Do we have to?" I groaned, "Come on, Percy! Have some mercy on me. I want to just sit here I t front of the TV, cuddle and eat Nutella straight from the jar!"
"Yes, we have to. Now get up and get ready," Percy said, pulling me up.
I went to his room and grabbed a pair of jeans shorts and put them on along with a black shirt. I tied one of Percy's flannel around my waist and put on my Converse.
I went out of the room and told Percy I was ready. He turned and stared at me.
"Cat got your tongue, Seaweed Brain?" I smirked.
Percy quickly recovered and replied with a grin.
"Is that one of my t-shirt, Wise Girl?"
"Yep," I replied, grinning cheekily, "Come on, let's go."
We entered the car and barely drove for two minutes when I asked whether we reached yet.
"Nope, you'll have to wait Annie," Percy replied.
"Don't call me that. Could you at least tell me where we're going?"
" Nope."
"Please," showing him my puppy dog eyes.
"Not happening, Annie. I'm not going to fall for that adorable face your pulling right now" he said, mumbling something else I couldn't quite hear.
Once Percy stopped the car, I got out of the car. Percy came up behind me and hugged me.
"This is to cheer you up, Wise Girl," Percy said, "I know you're not ready to tell me why exactly you came to my house that early in the morning, but if you said you're fine, then I'm not gonna stress too much about it."
"Aw, Percy! Thank you. It's beautiful."
"Anything for you, Wise Girl! Besides I can't take all the credit. Piper helped me."
Percy brought us to a lake. It was absolutely amazing. Under a tree a few feet away, there was a a blanket laid down and a picnic basket was on it. I turned towards him and hugged him. I pulled back a little.
"Thanks, Percy. I love you." I said, kissing him on the cheek.
"Your welcome, Anna."
We sat under the tree and ate the sandwiches and blue cookies, courtesy of Sally. We joked around and laughed.
"Come on, let's go for a swim," Percy said.
"Now?! Are you crazy? The water is gonna be so cold!"
"Oh, toughen up! Besides, it's not gonna be that cold. Please Wise Girl?"
"Okay, fine! But if I catch a cold, it's gonna be all your fault!"
Percy cheered like a little kid. He started to remove his shirt and pants, which left him in black boxers. I blushed and turned away. I was about to ask him what he was doing when I realised that he couldn't actually swim with his jeans on! Damn, I'm stupid sometimes.
"What are you waiting for Wise Girl! Take off you clothes!" Percy said.
I raised an eyebrow.
He stuttered, "I mean, to swim not like that... I mean.. ah nevermind." I laughed, "Turn around, Seaweed Brain! I'm not gonna change in front of you!"
Percy turned around and jumped into the pool. I stripped down to my underwear and jumped into the pool.
"PERCY! You told me the water wouldn't be cold! It's freezing!" I shouted.
"That's right, Annie. I told you it wouldn't be cold, not freezing" Percy said, coming closer to me, laughing.
"Not funny, Percy!" I said, pulling him closer to me and hugging him, trying to get a little warm and prevent myself from drowning.
We were under the moonlight in the middle of a lake. We stared at each other. It was quite a romantic atmosphere and I was caught up in the moment, ok? So don't blame me for what I did next. I grabbed his face and placed my lips on his.
Percy froze. I was about to pull back and apologize, when he leant forward and kissed me harder. My hands went to his hair and gently tugged on it. His hands held me firmly by my waist and pulled me closer to him. But, then we had to break away for air.
Percy smiled,"Dam, Wise Girl, you can kiss!"
I blushed, "I could say the same about you, Seaweed Brain."
Percy laughed, "So I guess you're my girlfriend now?"
I grinned, "I better be. Although, it's not official yet..."
"Will you, Annabeth Chase, make me the happiest man alive by being my girlfriend?"
"What do you think Seaweed Brain?" I asked.
"No?" He said.
"No, silly. My answer's yes! You really are a seaweed brain," I laughed.
"Hey!"
I just pulled him closer and rested my forehead on his.
"Gods, I've wanted to do this for a long time." He said and pulled me in for a kiss. I laughed and kissed him back.
And that is how we started dating. Or rather, as Piper calls it, how Percabeth became official.
Not an underwater kiss, but pretty dam close. I'm so sorry for not updating earlier. Also, I know that this not a People meet Percabeth, but it's a one shot, so..... Yeah...
