Annabeth had adrenaline coursing through her veins. She was running towards Percy's home. It was seven in the morning, so she had good reason to believe that Percy would still be sleeping. He wouldn't be able to stop her. She knew what she was doing could jeopardize their relationship. But, it was a risk she had to take. She couldn't bear the thought of living without the boy she loved.

She reached Percy's apartment. She knocked, hoping Gabe was sleeping or he passed out or something. She wanted to avoid him. She came here for Sally and only Sally. But, to her dismay, Gabe opened the door. She could smell the alcohol and cigarettes in his breath, even though she was standing nowhere close to him.

"Yes?" He said.

"Uh... I'm.. Uh.. I'm h-here for Sally?.."

Gabe grunted and opened the door wider, "Sally! Someone's here for you!"

Sally came to the door. Gabe went inside, probably to drink more. Sally invited her in.

Meanwhile, Percy was panicking. He stood and got dressed. His cut hurt so bad. But he brushed it off, and started running to his house. Annabeth couldn't tell his mom anything. It would ruin everything. Sadly, he couldn't run as fast as he usually would because of his wound. He was already pushing himself way too much. He was positive that by the time he reached home, his wound would open and start to bleed. Which probably wouldn't help in his argument.

Back at Percy's home, Annabeth and Sally were on the couch.

"What is it, honey? Where's Percy?"

"Percy's at my home, Sally. He came over so I could patch him up."

"Patch him up? What do you mean, Annabeth?"

"Gabe abuses Percy, Sally. Almost everyday. Every time he's at my home, it's cause he's injured. Sally, I'm scared. Yesterday, he came to my house with pieces of glass, Sally. He's sleeping at my home, right now. I came behind his back. He doesn't want you to know. He doesn't want to worry you."

"What?! Gabe, get in here!! Now!"

Gabe stumbled into the room, with a bottle in his hand.

"What is it? I'm busy."

"Do you abuse Percy?"

"What are you talking about?"

"It's a yes or a no question, Gabe. Do or do you not?"

"No! Why would I? He's like a son to me!"

"Tell me the truth, Gabe! I'm not in the mood for games."

Gabe grunted and moved forward.

"Fine, you want to know the truth?" He said, "Yes. I do hit him. I hit him when he's late or he does something wrong. Happy?"

"No, it's not alright, asshole! You have no right to touch my son!"

"Oh, I do." He said, lunging forward. He hit Sally with such force that she stumbled backwards. That exact moment, Percy barged into the apartment. He took in the scene. Annabeth standing near the couch with a murderous look on her face, his mom standing a few feet away from Gabe, holding her cheek. And that was enough for Percy. He charged towards Gabe and punched him. Annabeth grabbed her phone and called the police. Sally held Percy back before he could do anything else.

Gabe's nose was dripping with blood.

"You sick bastard! How dare you touch my mother?!" Percy was shouting. Sally calmed him down. Annabeth didn't know what to do. She called the police and they were on their way. But, Percy was acting like he hadn't seen her. She knew for a fact that he saw her standing, but he was ignoring her. She knew something of that sort was going to happen, but it still hurt.

Percy knew he shouldn't do that to Annabeth. She was doing it for him, after all. Either way, he told his mom after him specifically telling her that he didn't want his mom to know. His wound started bleeding, as expected. His mom's eyes widened at the sight. She took him to the hospital and got him fixed up.

"Percy, you have to talk to Annabeth."

"Yeah, mom, I know. I just need some time."

The police came and arrested Gabe. She said goodbye to Sally and Percy and headed back. Percy was still ignoring her. But, she didn't hold any regret. She needed to do it. She just wished Percy would understand. She had to talk to him today. She needed to explain herself.

She knew exactly where he would be. Near their lake. They had discovered that lake when they were 12. Ever since then, that was their meet up place. That lake seemed to have been a host to a boat house of some sort. There was a deck, leading into the lake. And the ruins of something that looks of a house. Percy and her were roaming around, when they stumbled upon the lake. No one knew about that lake. At least, to their knowledge.

Percy's mom probably took him to the hospital. By the time they would be back, it would be lunch time. So, Percy would probably be their in the evening. Annabeth decided to have her lunch and get some sleep before she went to talk to him.

Annabeth woke up at around seven. She put on some jeans and a t-shirt and headed out. She decided that she would go to his house. Just in case he was at home. As she walked towards his house, she wondered whether Percy would forgive her. He most probably would. He was never angry at her for long.

She reached his house and knocked.

"Hey, Annabeth," Sally said, "Percy's not here, I'm afraid. He just headed out. Didn't tell me where he was going."

"It's fine," she said, "See you later, Sally."

Annabeth headed over to the lake. She knew he would be at the lake. He always went there when he was overwhelmed. But, usually, if he was happy, he would go to her house first, and then the lake.

Percy was sitting on the deck, with his feet on the ground. He should probably talk to Annabeth. He missed her. Ugh, Percy. Can't you spend a few hours without her? He scolded himself. 'Yeah, I can't. Might as well go talk to her.' he thought. Before he could get up, he felt someone sit down next to him. He immediately knew that it was Annabeth. The smell of lemons gave it away. She held his hand and put her head on his shoulder. He let her.

"I'm sorry, Percy. But, you have to look at this from my point of view. You coming to my house, with your shirt soaked in blood. It was scary, Perce. It just made my head go wild. You know how imaginative I can get. Every thought that came to my head was y--"

What Percy did next, he was proud of. He kissed her. Finally. He pulled away before she could react.

"I forgive you."

Annabeth took a few minutes to process what just happened. When she realized what happened, she kissed him. She had been kissed before, but not like this. She could do this forever. Get a grip on yourself, woman. She pulled away. Percy grinned at her.

"Also, I love you Wise Girl"

"I love you too, Seaweed Brain."
