"No!" Sephiroth and Genesis protest in unison.

"It's the only way!" Aerith explains, her voice annoyed.

I look over to the monitor that was hung down on the ceiling. Sephiroths eyes radiant even with the static lines running across the screen. His voice both irritated and tired. The video call on his phone was shaky at best but he wanted to be present during this meeting.

He was currently finishing a mission in Sector 1. He left a few days ago but we've been talking with each other almost every night.

"Do I get a say?" I ask, a little annoyed that no one has let me speak thus far.

"No!" Sephiroth and Genesis protest in unison again.

"Look, Y/N, we'll figure out another way. There has to be another way. I'm not going to let them do that to you!" Sephiroth says sternly.

"We don't know what this chip inside her will do. What if Hollander has another way to access it? Huh? What if he can turn her against us? Or worse yet, kill her!" Aerith exclaims frustration in her voice.

She's taken a seat on my bed, her eyes rolling from Genesis to Sephiroth. Her arms crossed while she wears a pout on her lips.

"I can do it. I want this thing out of me." I beg.

"Okay. Y/N, you're telling me that you are okay with being AWAKE while they cut you up? With absolutely no anesthesia?! For who knows how long?!" Genesis cries in frustration too, trying his best to talk me out of the decision.

"Guys. Y/N is on borrowed time. We know NOTHING about what this chip is doing to her or what it CAN do to her. Yes, she'll be awake... and in pain... a lot of it. But, can we really weigh that against her possibly being in danger again in the future? Her being manipulated and out against us? Or worse, dying?! Sephiroth? Genesis?" Aerith pleads her eyes moving from Sephiroth to Genesis.

Both men stay quiet. Genesis large stature now consolidated to a corner. His eyes quiet and upset because he knew that this conversation was not going to go his way. He leans against the wall, his legs and arms crossed, his head shaking. He places his mako eyes on me and showers me with such a worried and concern look. I give him a comforting smile to ease his mind.

"I'll get through it. I promise. Aerith will be there, you guys will be there. I'll be fine." I say with resolve.

The afternoon after the meeting was gloomy. Genesis couldn't stay and talk to me, I don't know if it was because he was upset or he needed to do something but he walked out after the decision was made. Same with Sephiroth, he disconnected right after, the look on his face was upset.

The days went by faster than I imagined, Aerith was busy getting everything ready for the operation and Genesis hasn't come by to visit since. Sephiroth and I was able to speak this morning but our conversation was cut short. He said he would lose signal under the tunnel on the way back to Midgar. As I sat on my bed contemplating my decision a man I didn't recognize walked in.

He had long dark hair, his eyes sharp and intimidating. He stared for what felt like forever. His stride was similar to Sephiroth, very regal. He dressed himself nicely, his black suit defined his body very well.

"Do you remember me?" He asks, his tone stern.

I could only shake my head to answer. He lets out a big sigh and pulls a chair to my bedside. His eyes were piercing as if they were trying to speak to my soul.

"My name is Tseng. We were... are, good friends." He says with such a sad smile.

"Oh... hello. I'm sorry I can't remember anything." I return.
