Tranquil Beauty Chapter 8

Tonight was the awaited night. Everyone in the company was scrambling to get ready while guests from other regions flood the city leisurely waiting for the start. High aristocrats already flaunting their attire as they loiter about. But at this moment Seloria and Crys are browsing for possible dresses to wear for tonights ball.

Located in the outskirts of Midgar was a quaint boutique that showcased and sold beautiful gowns . The shop itself had a very whimsical and eccentric ambiance with a melancholy vibe. With the other boutiques in the more posh area bustling with men and women of the city all vying for THE dress this boutique though hidden was a gem.

"What do you guys think?" Crys asks as she steps out of the fitting room. The gown she had on was dark as night and hugged her sultry body. The silhouette covered her chest giving only a peek of her collar bone but as she turns she gives sight to a dramatic plunging back pointing down to a V-shape it stops right above her tail bone as it ends in a beautiful mermaid style flourish. She gently sweeps her brunette hair to one side and gives us a satisfied smile knowing our silenced aw was all the answer that she needed.

"Okay my turn!" Seloria jumps from her seat chipper than ever and makes her way to the fitting room. As she emerges out we are honored with her graceful presence. The lovely rose blush color made her beautiful platinum blonde hair dazzle against it. The beautiful gown that garnished her body had a plunging neck line ending just above her navel which mirrored the backside of the dress which was a bit wider and décolleté. The beading and crystalline flowers that adorned the top half melted towards the lower half of her body ending just below her hips and the petit sash wrapped around her body accentuating her tiny waist. The chiffon tulle overlay on top of a fine satin skirt cascading down to the floor gave the gown an incredible finish. Again with our silenced aw she gives us a content smile.

As I give Seloria compliments I notice Crys with such a contemplating expression on her face. She walks over to the mirror and stares at herself intensely. With her hands to her hips she sways side to side front to back inspecting herself.

"Crys, you ok? Is there anything wrong?" Seloria walks over to her and places her hand on her shoulder.

"Yeah... I just don't know if my companion tonight will ... like it." Crys's cheek is brushed with a tint of rose and her demeanor changes to a somewhat shy affection.

Seloria hearing the statement grabs her hands and looks into her eyes with a questioning expression. Both of us wait as we hold our breaths to find out who this special companion is. Crys was not one to show any interest in anyone so for her to have a date tonight was a shock.

"CRYS! Who is it?!" Seloria could longer hold her curiosity. Her outburst shocked the shopkeeper and all I could do was giggle and reassure her that everything was alright.

"It's... General..."Crys buries her cute expression away as she continues " ... General Angeal..."

As both Seloria's eyes and my own widen I could no longer hold in my surprise. I jump out of my seat and I walk closer to both the girls.

"Oh my! I'm so happy for you!" Seloria does a graceful turn in her gown making her skirt flow out.

Crys has been admiring General Angeal for such a longtime now. Ever since she was recruited into the Medic Department she has worked her hardest to be recognized as a top healer. There were a few instances where the General commended her for her hard work and she always has held him in high regard. When she became an Elite she was always called upon by General Angeal to assist him with missions. Crys's emotions fall between adoration or maybe even... love? Thoughts like these put a smile on my face and it truly makes me appreciate our moments together. Though our world is twisted it gives me insight on what I fight for love and happiness.
