"Literally, go away."

"I don't wanna."

"Go."

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"Yes."

"Yes."

"No- wait, what?"

Blaine laughs victoriously. "Haha, I win. Loser, no-" He gets cut off by my phone ringing. I quickly answer it, expecting Brianne or Jeremy. "This is Amulet," I say, trying too sound professional but laughing.

"Hey Amulet."

"Who is this?" I ask, unsure.

"It's Jacob, that awkward guy you met while getting coffee."

"Oh, hey! Haven't heard from- hold on a second." I put my hand over the speaker and shout at Blaine, "Blaine, shut up!" I grabbed a pillow and threw it at him. "Sorry, I'm back."

"Is this a bad time? 'Cause I can call back."

"No, no, it's fine. I'm just being tutored." Wow,  should've phrased that differently.

"Oh, okay. I was just wondering if you wanted to go for like, a coffee or something sometime."

"Sure! Yeah, um, maybe tomorrow at three-ish? I'm free then."

"Three works. I'll meet you at Serious Coffee?"

"Alright. See you then." I hang up and look and Blaine, who was giving me a weird look. "You're just being tutored?"

"Um, yes?"

"Am, I thought we had something special!"

"I met you last week. In my dreams. I've known you for less than a week in the real world."

"Your point?" He rolls his eyes.

"Kindly screw off." Sam walks in as I say that and laughs. "Kindly screw off?"

I throw another pillow at him. "Shut up."

"Feisty." Blaine teases. I reach for another pillow, but realize that I've ran out of them. "Haha," Sam teases when he realizes my frustration. A gust of wind blows his way and his hair becomes a wild mess. That works too. "Oh." Sam's eyes widen when he feels his hair. "Oh!" He rushes out of the room to fix it. He worries about it more than me.

"Was that intentional?" Blaine asks.

"No, but it works." I say, shrugging.

"You're going to need to get that under control," He warns. "We need you for our fighting."

"Is that all I am to you?" I feign hurt, trying to make him feel guilty. "A war machine?"

Blaine nods his head, "Pretty much." That didn't work. I cuss at him under my breath. "Sorry, what was that?" He asks, smirking.

"I called you a really good... Duck." I blurt out, blushing.

"Duck?" Blaine blinks.

"Yeah, I've heard your duck noises. You should be a duck for halloween."

"Okay,"

"Okay..." We stare at each other.

"You did not just.."

"We did not just..."

"Quote The Fault In Our Stars." We say at the same time. I gave him a dirty look while Sam is sitting next to me, trying not to laugh. "Dammit Sam, just bloody laugh." I sigh and he cackles. Like legit cackles.

"I hate you all." I sigh again and get up leaving the the room. "Amulet, wait up!" Blaine chases after me.

"I don't trust this guy."

"How did you know I was talking to a guy?" I stare at him.

"The speaker on your phone is very loud." He smirks.

"Oh. Why don't you trust him?"

"He could be one of the minions of Chaos. Everyone else on this team has gotten at least one sent to him."

I scoff. "Is little Blainey jealous?"

"What? No! I- just be careful, Am. Please." He grabs my arm, and I notice how serious he looks. "Okay?"

"Oka- Alright." Correcting myself so we don't have another moment like that. "I'll be careful."

"Promise?"

"Promise."

Blaine smiles cheekily. "Maybe promise will be our always." And he let's go of my arm, disappearing into nothing.

<><><>

It's Sunday, at ten forty-five am. I just woke up fifteen minutes ago. I mostly sit around doing nothing, until two-thirty; realising that I have a 'date' with Jacob in an hour. I scramble out of bed and to the bathroom for a shower since my hair was greasy. After that I do my regular morning routine and I'm done at around three o'clock.

My phone buzzes on my dresser, notifying me about something. I turn it on and I got a text message. Unknown number: remember to be careful today.

I furrow my eyebrows. Who is this? I question.

Blaine.

Oh. Oh. Yeah I'll be careful.

My phone buzzes once more. Promise?
I roll my eyes.

Promise.

And I start walking down the block, towards Serious Coffee.
