I met Blaine again in my dreams last night. The first thing I said to him was, "Dude, were you watching me yesterday?" He blushed and quickly said, "I prefer the word, keeping an eye on things."

"That's multiple words." I stated.

"Later, Amulet. Right now I need to explain the basics. Chaos is awakening and the peace is crumbling. Soon civilisation will fall and everyone will die. Now listen good, because we're running out of time. We need your help. We're working on a team of special people, and you're one of them. But for some reason, you have been the only female we could find so far. It may be hard but try to remember once you wake up. I know you have a habit of not remembering dreams," I blush. "I will see you tonight. Or perhaps earlier.." He faded away with a look on his face, like he knows what's going to happen.

And I woke up to my alarm. It was time for school.

I saw Brianne in the hallways again, she was sitting against her locker studying. So I decided to approach her, I need friends if I'm going to survive high school. "Hey," I smiled.

She looked up, startled. "Oh, hi. Amulet right? I haven't seen you around lately." That's because I skipped a few periods yesterday.. Oops.

"Yeah, I had too take a break. Being in school after so many years of not is kind of overwhelming."

"I see. Want to sit with me at lunch? You seem like a nice person." If only you knew.

"Sure, that sounds great! I'll see you later."

I met Brianne in the cafeteria line, after a while of looking. We sat down together and we listened to music. She actually has a great taste in music. There was a sudden commotion, a bunch of people were shouting and cheering and we got up and went over to the circle that formed. In the center of it, was my brother and a few others fighting. Well, more like Sam being held and being punched repeatedly by one of the other dudes.

"Hey! Stop it!" I shouted pushing my way through. One of the guys pushed me back out of the way and I collided with the ground. I cursed and Brianne and another girl helped me up. Probably a friend of Brianne's. I kept shouting at them, but not being able to actually help because two of the guys held me back.

But when I blinked, I saw the guys on the ground, me suddenly being free and inches away from me was Blaine. His knuckles were bruised and everyone was quiet. "Remember the dream. What I said. It's more important than you think." Blaine whispered. I couldn't say anything. I blinked again, and this time he was gone. I snapped out of my daze and ran over to Sam. "Hey, bro." I said softly. "You don't look so hot."

"It's these moments in time when I actually appreciate being related to your ugly butt." He chuckled.

I scoffed. "Rude." But I was smiling. A couple friends of Sams helped him up and took him to the nurse. Slowly, the circle dispersed and soon the only people in the cafeteria were me and the boys on the ground. I looked at them in disgust and thought about three things.

Why was Blaine here?

Why did Sam get in a fight?

And why did I not eat lunch?

M.A.T.H - Mental Abuse To Humans. There were fifty minutes in each class. In this class I spent forty-nine minutes of it looking down at my paper and the board blankly and the last minute drawing on the opposite piece of paper or in the corner of it. "Amulet?" My math teacher, Mr. Damon, called out. I raised my head. "If you could see me after class." I nod and text Sam, with 'permission' of course. When the bell rings everyone in the room clears out. Except for me and another guy.

"Amulet, you have been failing math, is something bugging you?" Yes, because I fail one class something is wrong.

"No," I force a smile, "I guess I just don't understand the questions. I promise I'll step up my game."
