"Amulet, you have training today."
"But I want to go bowling!"
"Tomorrow. Kai will be expecting you."
"But-"
"No buts." Blaine states firmly.
"Fine."
We were currently about to leave school, and I wanted to go bowling. But someone wouldn't let me, because apparently I have training. "Guess who's birthday is in a week." I hint.
"Let me guess, yours."
"Take the fun away from everything." I mutter.
"You'll be fifteen right? What are you going too do?"
"Have a one person junk food party."
"Can we make it a two person?" He asks, smirking.
"Are you inviting yourself to my one person junk food party?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.
"Maybe."
I shrug. "Be there by seven."
"Got it."
When we arrive, only a few people are present, Kai being part of them. Oh my God, there are more than two people, I think.
"Amulet, these people will be helping with your training and you'll also have private lessons with me. Group lessons are on Tuesday and Thursday, private are Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Weekends are your free time." Gee, a whole two days off. Thanks.
I sigh but nod. I guess it'll be like school, except I'm doing more work. Ten days of work, four days of break basically.
Today is Tuesday, tomorrow it'll just be Kai and I, and possibly Blaine. "Sam is going too kill me." I mutter.
"Not if Jacob gets to you first."
It's official.
I hate Kai.
"Faster, Amulet. You've got this!" He cheers.
"Shut. Up." I gasp out. I have been running laps for the past two hours. Any moment now it feels like I'm going to collapse. The others got to head to the boxing arena a while ago, but Kai was pushing me to my limits, seeing how long until I break.
I try slowing down to a jog, but he doesn't let me. "No jogging." I groan and speed up. I felt gross. A thin layer of sweat covered my body, and the clothes that were given to me clung to my body, and my necklace bounced around.
I kept up for ten minutes before stopping and laying on the ground. The other people from the group lesson snickered at me and I sighed. "Amulet. Are you okay?" Blaine called from across the room. I raised my hand and gave him a thumbs up. "Amulet, two more laps." Kai shouted.
"Yeah, no. I have ran for two hours and forty minutes. I am done." I ran the back of my hand across my forehead and a layer of sweat appeared on my hand. "Gross." I groaned as I rolled over.
"Amulet, catch." Looking up I saw a water bottle sailing towards me. I quickly caught it and the icy coldness made me jump. I chugged down half of it and sighed in content. Standing I looked towards Kai and Blaine. "Where are the showers?
After my shower I walked back towards the training area about saw Kai and another guy chatting quietly. Blaine was waiting for me by the exit. "I can't believe you ran for two hours straight."
"I'm can't believe that I didn't hit Kai." I grumble. Blaine laughs and nods.
"That too." He drops me off at home and I find Sam and Jeremy watching the T.V, sitting on opposite sides of the couch. "Hey." I say.
"Hey. How was training?"
"Awful. I ran laps the whole damn time. How was your day?"
"Average."
"Switch lives with me?" I groan out.
"It can't be that bad."
"Do you wanna try saving the world?" The whole time we argued, Jeremy was silently listening to us. "It's not his fault you we're born like that." He finally inputs.
I glare at him. "Kindly screw off." I go to the kitchen and heat up some left over spaghetti from the night before. "Night." I say as I climb the stairs, bowl of spaghetti in hand. "Wait, you have training tomorrow right?"
"Yeah. Why?"
"Just wondering." Sam says. I nod and continue up the stairs, plopping on my bed when I reach my room. I finish the noodles quickly and change into some pajamas after. I sketch for a while, random doodles around. When I look at my phone, the clock reads out "10:08 pm." I shut off my lamp and close my eyes, snuggling the blanket over my head.
"Hit it harder!" Kai yells at me. I let power surge through my body and out my fist. The force of the punch makes Kai stumble back a bit, the pads attached to his hands the only thing keeping him from saying "Ow."
I was angry. Angry that my brother would keep this secret from me. Maybe I was overreacting. Maybe I wasn't.
Four hours earlier.
Blaine and I sat at a secluded table in the corner of the cafeteria, eating lunch. Well, he was. I was snacking on a bag of chips, a soda, and a cookie. "Fatty." I heard one guy shout from another table. The one Sam was sitting at. Blaine growled in their direction, and I felt his fists heating up. "Piss off!" He responded. "Calm down." I whisper to him, looking down at the tile floor. I fold the bag of chips and throw it towards the garbage bin that sat little ways from us, and slide the cookie towards Blaine. He shook his head at me while I shrugged. "Enjoy." I heard one of Sams' friends change the topic. "My little sister was talking about how this kid in her class said that he liked guys. I said to not be gay because gay is for retards." The table erupted in laughter and I sighed. What a terrible thing to put in that girls mind. "Those guys are idiots. Why does Sam hang out with them?" Blaine wonders.
"Because... I don't know. Because friends are important?"
"Family is even more important." He looks at me dead in the eye. I snicker. "Not to Jeremy. Not to my dad. Not even to Sam until recently. The world is messed up. But then again, so am I."
"No, you're not. That's like saying puppies are messed up."
"Puppies?" I chuckle.
"Whatever." He throws a grape at me and I catch it and pop it into my mouth.
Blaine gave me a ride home, Sam leaving early from apparently being "sick". I didn't buy it. I waved to him after he called out, "Training today, I'll pick you up at six."
"Hello?" No response. I shrug to myself. I climb the staircase and pass Sam's room. There were voices. I open the door and walk in. "Sa-" I froze. Sam and someone else were making out, and when they turned towards me, shocked, I knew who it was.
"Derek?"
THIS. THIS TOOK FAR TOO LONG.
Hello everyone. Feel free to hate me right now. So, little Sammy is gay. I've been planning to make him gay for a while I just didn't know when to introduce it, sooo. And guys, another sort of cliffhanger! I'm not even sorry.
Amulet's training session has started and soon, this teenage drama will finally turn into fantasy drama. Oooh. Aaah. So, chapter twelve will hopefully, hopefully, be out before May ends. I just... school man.... and procrasination. Hope you enjoyed! Until next time..
