Rosie:
I finally made it back to D.C, very tired and just ready to take a shower and head to bed. Driving up the familiar street towards my home.
I entered the code that unlocked the gate. as the gates slowly was opening I was greeted by Aiden who was jumping up and down excitedly.
" Roro! I missed you!" here comes my little brother whom I haven't seen in about a month. He grew taller everyday and he never ceases to amaze me with his wildly intelligent vocabulary,
" hey bud, did you have fun at uncle jakes?" he nodded eagerly and looked behind me momentarily, initially I knew he was wondering about mom and dad and checking to see if they were coming out of the car.
" Bud, have you spoken to mom or dad at all since they have been away?"
he shook his head slowly and started to look a little sad.
" like at all?"
" well now that you are back home I don't have to stay at Nona's or at uncle jakes anymore."
That's weird though, I could've sworn he spoke with mom or dad while they have been away, wonder why they haven't told him anything.
" come on, let's go inside or else we will freeze to death out here."
I wasn't really looking forward to get back to school but at least I was home and with Aiden by my side,
I received a call suddenly and butterflies started to erupt in my stomach, wanna guess who it could be?
" Hello,"
" Hey cutie, wanted to make sure that you made it back to D.C in one piece,"
" if I didn't I wouldn't be here talking to you now would I?"
" Ouch, you sarcasm really wounds me you know?" I asked Aiden if he had eaten and he shook his head ever so sadly. Poor thing, I was still talking to Jared on the phone when suddenly Aiden came and grabbed it from my hands,
Currently chasing him around the kitchen island till I finally caught him.
" Got you! all right bud, pizza is on the way so please do me a solid and go wash up and put on some comfy clothes."
Aiden was used to me telling him what to do and he is a very good kid, he listens well and we get along. I was always in charge of tucking him in and babysitting him for hours because mom and dad were always so busy.
" Sorry about that, Aiden grabbed my phone and of course lead to a game of tag."
Jared chuckling on the other end gave me a sense of relief? i suppose I dont know I can't think of a word.
" You seem to do well with kids."
"Well I would hope so, I have been babysitting my brother since he was in diapers."
"I can tell you will be a good mom someday."
okay cue awkward silence.
" I suppose. so anyways how have you been?" I left my phone on speaker while Aiden was in his room across the hall watching tv in his jammies.
I quickly changed into my jammies and crept my door open a little bit because Aiden is sneaky sometimes.
"So whats up?"
"Nothing just wanted to hear your voice. Couldn't call earlier because of a shoot but I just wanted to check in on you."
"Well I am fine. Made it back safely. You check on me more than my parents do so that says something." And here comes the word vomit.
