Rosie's POV

"That's for me to know and you to find out." Jared said keeping his focus on the road.

" You Okay?" I nodded, My Head seems to be somewhere else today.

" Couldn't sleep?" I asked lamely. Of course he couldnt sleep. why else are you with him at 3 in the morning driving around New York?

"Rosie?"

"What? I'm sorry did you say something?"

"Well it seems like you are having an interesting conversation in there." I blushed in embarrassment .

"So um Jared can I ask you something?"

"Shoot."  He urged.

"Why were you so mean the first time we met?" There was nothing but silence for about a good minute before Jared let out a sigh.

"Cmon there's some place I wanna show you." He said, totally dodging the question.

We were standing at some old building up on the north side of New York. He grabbed my hand and lead me towards the abandon stairway.

"You up for an adventure?" Jared asked sending a smirk my way. I was hesitant but left me no choice when Jared grabbed my hand and led me towards the elevator of the building pressing the top button.

"14 floors? Good thing we took the elevator. It would've probably taken us all night to get to the top if we had taken the stairs." I mentally slapped myself for being so lame. He started to laughed at my blushing cheeks. After a while as our laughter died down there was an awkward silence.

The elevator doors opened just in time before I said something completely random and end up embarrassing myself.

"Oh wow! this view is amazing" Here I was standing on the rooftop overlooking the great city in New York.

"I usually come up here to get some inspiration."  I looked at him with a puzzled expression.

"I wanna be a writer." Honestly I wasn't expecting that. I always pictured Jared being an athlete or a possible business owner. I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't realize that he was just studying me.

"I'm sorry, I actually didn't think you would wanna be a writer. I always thought you'd be something along the lines of- of what? a pro athlete or probably running a business?"

"Did I say that out loud by chance?" He just chuckled and nodded.

"I hope we continue having hang outs like this Rosie. Even when we go back to D.C"

"Yeah I hope so too."

"Hey Rosie. I know this isn't any of my business but." He suddenly grabbed my hands and began to inspect them. His fingers grazed my scars, I instantly got out of his grasp.

"Are those scars?" The only other people that knew about my scars were my dad, dean , and Aaron.

"Rosie? are those scars on your hand." I shrugged my shoulders. Hopefully he wont ask any further.

" Rosie" "Please! Please no more questions." I let out a desperate sigh.

"That is a story for another time. Please, can you respect my decision.?" I was pulled into a hug suddenly "Of course, I will always respect your decision Rosie."

I knew that at that moment I finally had a friend that I could count on. I found myself hugging Jared back. I was slowly getting closer and closer to their particular group and I didn't know at the time that not only will this group of people make me happy and smile alot but they are also the cause of my pain, that will be coming up ahead.
