Phase 2

Tyler's POV:

"Hey dad, Would it be better if I wasn't in the picture anymore?" I averted my attention on my daughter.

"sweetheart. what are you talking about?" Shocked she would even ask that.

Rosie casually took a sip of her drink while avoiding my piercing stare.

"I asked if it was better if I was out of the picture. She repeated .

"To be honest dad I have been going through so much in New York that you and mom dont know about. How school was. Coming home to an empty house."

"I wanna tell mom later so I will tell you first."

Rage. Sadness. Guilt. My heart was completely shattered. Rosie had told me what happened in New York with Mr. Stanley's boys.

I was angry, I was angry at myself for not even being there for her. I didn't even know what was happening under my own roof.

" Let's go home sweetheart." We got in the car and a quiet 30 minute drive back home.

We arrived safely and I see a young man on my driveway leaning on Rosie's car.

Could this be? Already?! I was not prepared for anymore surprises!

Think Tyler think! You should come off as intimidating. So he knows who's boss.

" Um dad." Rosie said nervously.

We got out of the car and Rosie rushed over to the young man's side.

" Dad this is my boyfriend Aaron." I looked over at this boy. He looked a bit like a deliquent .

" Babe, this is my dad."

He held out his hand. Well he has manners at least.

"Nice to meet you Mr.Cade. I was just here to drop off Rosie's car. She might need it to go to school tomorrow."

Rosie looked at him confused. "I thought you were picking me up tomorrow.?"

"I have to pick up something with Damon tomorrow. I will be at school before lunch starts." He explained.

Cue the awkward dad stance I am currently doing. I felt like it was my duty to stay here and make sure nothing was happening but at the same time it was completely awkward for me.

Aiden had come outside just in time.

"Hey dad! can we go to the store? I need to buy supplies for my school project." Lina walked out shortly afterwards.

"Hey honey, can you take Aiden to the store for me, I have to get ready for the dinner party tonight."

Lina looked over towards Rosie and Aaron.

"Oh my! And who might this be?"

"Mom this is Aaron, um my boyfriend." Rosie responded truthfully. What came out of my wifes mouth was unexpected.

" Ohh is he now? You should be focusing more on school than boys Sayuri. " I haven't heard my wife use rosie's full name in a while. The longer I stood there I was getting annoyed at my wife's remarks. I know my daughter is a responsible girl. she wouldn't do anything and I trust her.

"Lina, we should head inside. " I practically dragged her to the house. Lina turned around towards Rosie and Aaron.

" Sayuri come inside. And Aaron is it? It was nice meeting you. "

" oh uh you too ma'am. " after we reached inside the house I stormed into our bedroom, Lina hot on my tail.

" you're ridiculous you know that ? " Breaking the silence that echoed in the room.
