Chapter 11

Zane has spent almost every single night over fore the past week. He is also gonna go and see nancy with me after lunch.

I lifted my head from his chest and looked at the clock 8:30. I groaned and snuggled closer to kid bare chest. I felt him chuckle. So I looked at his face he was staring down at me. I sat up. It was nice to be able to use both arms and with the help of nancy and Zane I can now sit up on my own and dress myself.

"Why are you up so early?" Zane asked sitting up next to me. Rubbing his eyes. His hair a mess.

"My appointment is at 10 we have to get ready. You need to go home and get dressed and meet me and Cody there ok." I said pulling myself into my wheel chair

" why can't I take you by myself?" He asked pulling on his shirt.

"Because Cody is my best friend and we need him out of the house because its his party today."

That's right today was Cody's 18 birthday. And the team was coming over. We will also find out whose the captains will be today. It makes me sad to know I may never play again.

"What are you thinking about darling?" Zane asked.

"Soccer. Who do you think the captains will be?" Me and Cody and teddy were captains last year. But things have changed. It's only November 7 and season starts April 3 that's 5 months. I'm ganna miss playing with my boys.

"It's hard to say" he says from behind me.

"Now go home so I can get ready!" I say as I push him towards the door.

"I'll see you later darling!" He yelled from down stairs

I take a quick shower doing it on my own pulling myself up on the little shower bench we installed. Over the past weeks I have gained major muscles in my arms.

After my shower I dress myself on my own just sliding on jeans and my soccer jersey. Every one but Cody will be wearing one. Then I wheel myself down stairs. Skipping the elevator lift and just wheeling myself down the stairs. It was bumpy but I do not have that much patients.

I found everyone in the kitchen. All sitting and eating. Cody hasn't really liked the fact that Zane spends the night. But that's his deal.

"Hey birthday boy!" I sit next to him. Then engulf him in a hug.

"Hey loser! You ready to go." He asked

"Cody she hasn't even eaten yet!" April yelled. I took a handful of grapes and smiled.

"By guys see you later!" I shouted opening the door. And wheeled myself to Cody's car. After I got in he put the chair in the back.

"You excited?" Cody asked me with a smile.

"Why?" I gave him a confused look.

"We're working on the legs today!"

"We are arn't we." God I'm excited when I saw the doctor he told me that I wasn't permintly paralyzed.

We parked right next to Zane, and he wheeled me into nancy's office.

After stretching my legs forever we finally left. I was really happy to see that every one parked a block away so Cody didn't notice. Me and Zane were walking behind Cody and we got to see him jump as everyone shouted surprise.

"Happy birthday!" I rolled up next to him.

"Thank you bent" he had a huge grin in his face.then left to talk to Leo. A offense player.

"Hello there." A voice said and I turned around to see Anna. Who I haven't herd from since before the accident. So about a month.

"Hey what's up." I said. This was awkward.

"Is it true that you are pretending that you can't walk just to sleep with zane?" She flat out asked me. I wanted to cry. I was shocked to start with.

"Is it true that your heads stuck so far up your ass that you can't see daylight!" Zane's voice came from behind me handing me a water. Anna's mouth flew open. About to say something but I finally found my voice.

"I think you should leave my house!" I stated and turned around. My body was trembling and I felt Zane kneel down in front of me. I lifted my head up and looked into his eyes.

"Are you ok?" He asked I shook my head.

"Let's get back to the party!" I said wheeling myself towards Burt our goalie.

After an hour of socializing coach spoke up.

"Ok guys!" Looks over at me. "Bentley. Time for captains we will have 3 this year. First in order last name abc order is Cody Anderson. Happy birthday by the way." We all clapped I felt excited for him. " next Zane Peterson" clapping he looked down at me and I smiled. That ment teddy's out because his last name is johns. Poor teddy it's probably because he doesn't take it seriously. Coach clears his throat. Finally I am proud to announce as head captain..... Drum role please" and we all did "Bentley Venisly"

My mouth probably hit the floor.

"But coach I can't play!" I say once the clapping died down.

"Doesn't matter you deserve it. Now captains get together and come up with a fundraiser for the Christmas fair and give it to me in a week. With that he left.

Tons of people came up to me and Zane to congratulate us as they left. And soon it was time for us to leave, and go to bed.

"Cody happy birthday and congrats." I said wheeling over to him and he gave me a hug.

"Thank you and you to captain of captains." I laughed at that.

"Me and Zane are going to bed!" I told him and left .

I got into my room to find Zane already laying on the bed just In his boxers. I stripped my pants and jersey. And got into bed in my tank and underwear.

"Bentley!" Zane said turning to me.

"Yeah" I murmerd breath inion his smell and leaning my head on his chest.

"Where is your dad?" He asked.

"Why?"

"We'll you are living with cody's family. Why not with your dad?" He asked.

"My dads in prison lets just go to bed I murmured. Hoping he would think that's all and let it be. Lucky for me he did.

"Night darling." He must've thought I had fallen asleep because he then whispered. "I love you!"
