"Really, Ten?! A boyfriend?!"

"Mom, I--"

His mother suddenly slapped Ten in the face which made the hybrid to be surprised.

"Didn't I tell you to finish your studies instead of being in a relationship?! I trusted you! I gave everything for you and now, you repay me with this?! How long were you hiding it from me?"

Ten couldn't reply. He didn't want to shout or burst out of his anger infront of his mother. But he badly wanted to say to her everything he wanted to let her know. He didn't want to give up whatever he and Johnny have because of his mother, neither he wanted to lose his family.

"Was that the Johnny you were talking about? So you were lying to me about tutoring? What has got into your mind?! Clearly, that guy is no-good--"

"You don't have the right to say that! You don't know him!"

His mother furrowed her eyebrows at him, "We'll go back to Thailand."

Ten's eyes widened, "What?! Mom!"

"When did you learn shouting at your mother?! When did you learn to disobey me like this?! For you to learn your lesson, we'll go back to Thailand and finish your studies there!" she shouted.

"We didn't do anything wrong! Mom, I'm old enough to know the consequences. Can you just support me for whatever I'm doing? Johnny's not a problem--"

"All my life, I supported both of you and your sister. I thought I did everything. Maybe I wasn't strict enough? I taught you everything, Ten," she said, "I don't want to happen to both of you what happened to me! I dropped out of school because I had a family at an early age! I want both of you to have a good future!"

Ten felt like he's suffocating. She was strict enough that the anger inside of him built up and now, he just bursted. All he wanted was to be happy, but maybe his mother just doesn't understand.

"Mom, I can finish studies with Johnny--"

"Whatever you have with that man, break it off."

The hybrid's heart dropped at what he heard. He tensed and his eyes started to get teary. The thing he was most afraid of was starting to become true and he hated it. It was a wrong timing and Ten wanted to fight for their relationship. He doesn't want to break ties with Johnny and just leave him when he was already sure about him. He wanted to be with Johnny.

"M-Mom, you can't do that! Please..."

Her stare became cold. Too cold than Ten ever expected. It actually sent shivers down his spine.

"You're my child, my responsibility, so it's my job to protect what's mine! I just wanted to give both of you a good life."

"But it resulted to me finding comfort from other people rather feeling comfort in my family!" Ten exclaimed, in the verge of crying.

His mother was taken aback from his words but was surprised when Ten looked straight at her with so much worry and anxiety.

"Johnny's really important to me. Ever since I started spending time with him, even though we don't get along with each other's attitude at first, I found someone who could finally understand me...P-Please, don't send me back...I-I don't want to leave everything..."

She sighed, "Ten--"

"I promise to listen to you! I-I promise to obey you! I promise to do my best next time! I won't do a-anything stupid again...Just please, let me stay."

Johnny didn't receive calls or texts from the past two nights. He sent Ten one text but never replied. He was worried but maybe, something happened or he's busy. He could maybe have a talk with him in person. It's already Monday anyway.

He stepped out of his car and was about to walk into the university, someone blocked his way. A middle-aged lady, a mother, who holds the same eyes as the person he knows dearly.

"Are you Johnny?" she said with a stern tone.

Johnny simply nodded, "Yes. May I help you?"

"You're no-good for my son."

That made the man to be confused.

"E-Excuse me...?" the man asked.

"Starting this day, I want you to cut whatever ties you have with my son--"

"Mom!"

Both of them looked behind and saw Ten. Johnny looked back at the lady and sums it that she is Ten's mother. He was still confused what she said but maybe it's just him denying what was happening.

"I said I'll talk to him, not you," Ten said before he walked and grabbed Johnny's hand to come along with him.

Johnny wasn't talking all the way as he was directed to the quiet part of the campus. They stood infront of each other but Ten wasn't looking at Johnny. The man almost knew what happened. He softly smiled, sad one, at Ten but his heart was broken.

"We could take a break," Johnny said, against his will.

Ten started crying, his tears running down his cheeks and hiccupped, "I-I didn't want this..."

"I know that, babe," the man said, pulling the hybrid into a tight hug and burying his face against the hybrid's head.

Ten hugged him back and cried against the man's chest, "I-I had no other choice...She'll put me far away from you. I-I'd rather break up with you than living faraway from you."

Johnny chuckled, "I'll have to respect whatever your mother wanted."

Then he pulled away from the hybrid with an enthusiastic smile which broke Ten's heart.

"I'll earn your mother's trust. I promise."

Ten nodded, "A-After college, you're mine. You're reserved for me, okay?! I-I'll beat up anyone who tries to flirt with you!"

The man placed a peck on the hybrid's forehead as he caressed the hybrid's wet cheeks, wiping the tears with his thumbs even though it was useless as tears were continuously flowing.

"And I'll beat up anyone who tries to steal you from me."
