After a few years, both of them remained 'friends', as they labeled themselves. They held their selves back and acted like acquaintances when they weren't. It was hard when they tried to lessen the way they're seeing each other, not wanting to dismay anyone.
They stole several glances, smiles and unexpected skinships through the years. Ten and Johnny individually grew but knew that they'll always support each other. When Johnny joined activities like basketball, Ten was always there to cheer him out. The hybrid was always there for the man, same with how the man supports the hybrid.
They seem to be apart but their each other's hearts remained as theirs to keep.
When others keep pushing them apart, they're connection kept growing closer.
They never fell out of love. They were motivated to prove that they can wait until it's the right time to be together.
Graduation day.
Johnny made it and it was his special day. Ten, of course, didn't want to lose the chance to see him on stage so he tried to ask permission from his mother. It would be a hard thing but if he really wants to be with Johnny, he'll have to show it.
"Mom," he called.
She hummed, "Yes, hon?"
Ten fidgeted with his fingers but his courage was already up. He wants to see Johnny.
"Can I ask you a permission?" the hybrid asked.
"What is it?"
"Hm, can I...go to the graduation today?"
The mother looked at her son, "Why?"
Ten smiled softly, "It's just...Johnny. I wanted to atleast be there to see him graduate...but if only I can."
She hummed before she went back to cleaning the plates. It took her a minute which made Ten to conclude that his mother didn't want him to go. But it wasn't her answer.
"Come home before dinner, okay?"
Ten's smile widened, "Really?! You're letting me?!"
She looked back at him with a smirk, "Did you want me to say no?"
"Too late to change your mind!"
Then the hybrid went up to his room to dress up. He dressed up nicely, wanting to impress the man. Johnny doesn't know about it and the one who will be acting as his guardian might be one of his friend's parent. He should just surprise him.
He excitingly grabs the car keys and went down the stairs. He was about to go out but his mother spoke.
"Say 'congratulations' for me," his mother said, "And tell him I said 'Thank you.'"
"Mom...?"
"He did what I asked him to do. Both of you just needs is more patience, okay?"
It earned a smile from Ten. He bids his bye to his family before he ran outside and went to drive their car. His mother started to become open-minded when Ten started talking about Johnny. Clearly, he just wants to tell how much he loves the man.
Well, she's still unsure but she could see how much they love each other. Johnny, in the past years, has been earning her trust by keeping his hands off of Ten. Just respecting her, in general, made her think that she's been rough.
It's useless to keep fighting if they won't surrender.
Ten drove his way to the venue and saw many cars have already parked. He was able to see one and quickly goes to find Johnny. Hopefully, he's just in time. He walked over to look around the crowd but it was quite useless. There was too many people, well, what could he even expect?
Suddenly, he was pulled out of the crowd and pulled towards the area without any people.
The hybrid was about to rage and shout at the person but he was turned around and saw the man he's been looking for.
"What are you doing here exactly?" Johnny asked.
"Hey, no touch, hotshot."
The man pouted and lets go of the hybrid, remembering that he still can't touch the hybrid in any way. Johnny was already in his toga which very much suits him. Ten slowly smiled at him. He then tiptoed and pulled Johnny into a searing kiss.
"Congratulations," Ten whispered and went down, "So proud of you, babe."
Johnny smiled, "I'm glad you're here."
"Why wouldn't I be?"
"Because of your mother?"
The hybrid hummed, "Well, surprisingly, she lets me and...she kinda accepted everything now."
The man's eyebrows furrowed and was taken aback, "Wait, did I hear that right?"
Ten nodded, "Yes! Believe it!"
"Well, what can I say? Everyone loves me," Johnny said with a grin on his face.
"You're too cocky!" the hybrid said.
The man combed his hybrid's hair, playing with the ears as well, "Just a little more patience, huh?"
"One more year."
"You've been with no one, right?" the man asked.
Ten held Johnny's hands that were on his cheeks, "Yes, sir. And you aren't hiding anyone, right?"
"Of course. I promised someone that we'll be adopting kittens and a kid when time comes."
The hybrid chuckled and blushed, "How demanding. Who even is that?"
"Someone who named Chittaphon," the man answered.
Ten laughed, "I fucking love you."
"I love fucking you too," Johnny uttered which wasn't something that was wrong.
The hybrid punched his chest and earned a laugh from the man. Suddenly, Johnny remembered something which made him to look at his hand. Ten looked at it and watched the man take the silver ring off. The man grabbed the hybrid's hand and rubbed his thumbs against the knuckles.
"Don't motherfucking ask me if I'll marry you because I will!" Ten exclaimed.
Johnny chuckled, "You're too loud. This is just for you to remind yourself that I'm still waiting for us to come back."
The hybrid nodded and lets the man put the ring around the hybrid's middle finger.
"One more year," the man repeated
"I'll be here, waiting too."
