Chapter 22

Shawn's POV:

I jerk awake as something hits my face. I look and see Matthew next to me laughing.
"What was that for?" I ask rubbing my face.

"Sorry dude I had to for a Vine." Matthew says chuckling.

I sigh with a slight smile. I then lay my head back down. I then look at Layla, she is sound asleep. I smile and pull some hair out of her face. I then hear music coming from her earbuds. I curiously click her phone on to see who she is listening to. My song "The Weight" was playing. My smile grows as I click her phone off. I then see her eyes flutter open. She looks at me and frowns.

"What's wrong?" I ask.

"We are not in San Diego." She says in a pouty face and I chuckle.

"Well we are pretty close." I say rubbing her back

"Good. I'm really excited for this Magcon thing!" She says excitedly.

"Me too." I say with a smile.

She smiles then clicks her phone open. I smile as "The Weight" plays on.

"By the way I like the song you're listening to." I say and she looks down and laughs.

"It's my favorite song that you have written so far." She says.

I nod and then click on my phone.

"But..the story in the song is sad. Um..Nevermind." She says.

"Um what?" I ask.

She just looks at me.

"Please?" I ask with I smile.

She was hesitant for a second but finally spoke.

"Was "The Weight" based on a true story?" She asks with gentle eyes.

I look in her eyes for a long time. It was based on a true story. It was my first girlfriend and she slept with my best friend Brian.

"Yeah..it was. She was my first girlfriend an she slept with my best friend Brian. But that was a long time ago. No big deal." I say with a shrug.

She frowns and reaches over a grabs my hand.

"Breakups are big deals. Especially if it involves cheating and her sleeping with your best friend." She says.

"Well it was a big deal at the time but that happened like 3 years ago." I say.

"Still. I had a boyfriend before Cameron and You. His name was Jacob. He played football and he slept with one of the cheer leaders. I still hate to talk about it..and that happened 4 years ago." She says.

I just look at her again. This Jacob guy did not deserve Layla at all.

"Wow. Sounds like he didn't deserve you." I say looking at her with a frown.

"It sounds like this girl didn't deserve you." She says with a slight smile.

I smile and squeeze her hand.

"Well if he ever crosses paths with you again, just call me and I will take care of it." I say and she laughs.

"Will do Mendes." She says and I crack up when she called me "Mendes".

"AYEE LOVE BIRDS!!! We are about to land! You would of heard that if you guys would stop flirting." Nash yells and people look at him and give him weird looks.

Layla and I laugh. I can feel that we are all gonna have a great time here.

Layla's POV:
( 1 hour later)

We got off the plane an hour ago now we were at out hotel. Right down the street was the place they were gonna have Magcon. Also right across the street was a beach! That was awesome.

"Okay we have 6 rooms." Nash says.

Brooke,Jade, and I look at him confused.

"But there is only 9 of us." Jade says.

"Oh I forgot there is 3 other people in Magcon. Mahogany, Aaron, and Jacob." Nash says.

Shawn looks at me.

"What?" I ask.

"What was the first name of your old boyfriend?" He asks.

"Jacob?" I say.

"The last name?" He asks.

"Whitesides. But Shawn the Jacob I'm talking about is not the one coming."

Shawn just looks at me.

"Oh god please tell it's not Jacob Whitesides." I say and suddenly I can't breath.

"Oh. My.God." I say in short breaths.

"Layla calm down. He can't hurt you anymore. I'm here now." Shawn says.

I nod but still have trouble breathing.

"Layla you okay?" Brooke asks.

I shake my head and lay my head on Shawn.

"She will explain later." Shawn says.

"Nash can we have a key to a room now. Layla and I will share. She is not feeling well." Shawn says.

"Aww okay. I will text you guys when Jacob,Aaron, and Mahogany come so you can meet them." Nash says and I nod but feel like I'm gonna puke.

Shawn grabs the keys and he leads me to the elevator. Once we are inside. I let out a long sigh. I didn't want to even see Jacobs face.

"I want to cry so much right now." I say into Shawn's shoulder.

"Then let it out. Keeping in tears is bad." Shawn says gently.

I nod and let one tear slip. I rolls down my cheek and onto Shawn's flannel. He rubs my back. I hear a ding and the elevator opens. Shawn and I walk out and find our room. I run in and collapse onto the bed. Shawn lays next to me and pulls me into him. I then cry into him.

"I sh-shouldn't be crying o-over him." I cry.

"It's okay. He broke your heart. I cried over my old girlfriend too." Shawn says rubbing my back.

"No I need to stop." I say and wipe my eyes.

After I wiped the tears I look up at Shawn.

"Besides I don't care about him. All I care about is you." I say and Shawn smiles.

I then cuddle into Shawn as He wraps his strong arms around me. We then both drift into sleep.
