The lights begin to dim as I take a final glance at my playbill and pop it in my bag, knowing that this is going to be good.
I'm sat throughout act 1 totally mesmerised by the talent onstage, I'm completely sucked in by everything that's happening! In Seize the Day, my attention was grabbed just after the paper dance when Ben looked at me in the eyes and threw his scrunched-up paper at me, who does he think he is?! It made me laugh though, and he winked at me before continuing with the dance which made my stomach explode into butterflies again!
Before I know it the show is over, and man I see why it is major news. The choreography, the harmonies, the technique, I have have no words - it was complete perfection.
"That was incredible" I say to Amy as we are walking out to the foyer"It really was, I'm glad you enjoyed it!" Amy replied with a smile "Now do you know where the toilets are?"
"Yep I have a feeling they're down there" I point towards the giant sign in the foyer reading 'TOILETS'
"Oh I didn't see that. Thanks" she laughs and starts to walk away before adding "and if the backstage tour people come while I'm gone, go ahead I'll catch you up as I need to ring Noah" Amy turns again and sprints towards the toilet.
"Okay will do" I call after her, laughing at the speed she's running towards the loo.
I stand and admire how pretty the theatre looks; the long, red, velvet curtains that usually disguise the stalls entrance are pushed open so you can see the gorgeous, 18th century-style architecture that surrounds the massive stage. The stalls' lights are still on, giving the area a golden hue. Everything is so peaceful beyond those velvet curtains; contrasting with the post-show hustle and bustle of the foyer. I continue admiring the beauty of the theatre until someone walks up behind me, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Hey, are you here for the tour?" A brown haired boy asks me. I recognise his face from somewhere...oh he's one of the boys who came into the studio in January with Blonde Boy, I think his name's Josh.
"Yeah I am and so's my um...mom, she said she'd catch us up as she needs to ring my...dad."
Damn that was weird to say, 'mom' and 'dad' is something I've never called them and I probably never will, but I don't mean that in a bad way, I just prefer calling them Noah and Amy."Okay cool!" Josh says, walking away and beckoning me to follow. We start walking through the theatre before he asks me the question I knew was coming. "Hey, aren't you that girl who's in Beetlejuice?" He asks, pushing open a door that leads to the backstage area.
"Um, yeah that's me" We stop outside of a dressing room door; Josh turns to look at me, a smile on his face.
"I thought I recognised you from somewhere! Anyway, I've got to go and do stagedoor, you know what it's like." He smiles again and so do I "So I'll leave you with Ben, he'll give you the tour as tonight is his night off from stagedoor."
Oh god, I didn't think I'd have to talk to Blonde Boy this soon - alone may I add - please can you hurry up Amy so I don't have to do this by myself!Josh opens the door revealing Ben sat on his phone, who's wearing a red Adidas hoodie and black tracksuit bottoms. He quickly walks over to Ben, says something to him and jogs past me out of the dressing room door. "I've gotta go, see you later." He shouts. I turn and wave at him before facing Ben.
"Hey Jorgia!" He says with a smile, lighting up the already very bright room. He pulls out a chair next to his and beckons for me to sit down. WHY DO I FEEL SO NERVOUS AGGHHH!!
He smiled again as I sit down. "How did you find the show?" He asks, making natural conversation
Oh god I can't stop looking into his gorgeous, blue eyes "I loved it! You are all so insanely talented, I was in awe watching you perform. Honestly, I think you give Beetlejuice a run for its money!" We both laugh and he looks away briefly and blushes, did I make him do that or am I just extremely embarrassing?
