"Hey Cass, we're here." Gwen shook me till I woke up and I groggily stepped out of the car.
"Be at the Hub in 45 minutes, we'll meet there and then Jack will take us out to dinner from there." She said and drove off.
"Well, that was weird." I said and Owen chuckled.
"Let's just get ready and do what Jack wants."
"But I wanna shower and sleep in a proper bed. I mean I love camping and all, but my back hurts. They didn't exactly give us any proper camping mattresses." I whined.
"The sooner we get there, the sooner we can leave." He argued and I started running towards his apartment.
"Then what are we waiting for!" I yelled almost bouncing in front of his apartment door. Owen laughed at my antics and unlocked the door.
I practically ran into the shower and had the fastest shower ever. When I emerged from the bathroom, Owen was waiting for his turn.
"Well, someone's eager." He smirked and entered the bathroom, while I was a blushing mess in the hallway. I heard him turn on the shower and got into my room.
After a long search, I finally found a dress to wear. It's both casual and formal.
I walk out to the living room and sit down on the couch, waiting for Owen.
"Cass, you ready?" He says as he enters the living room, I get up from the couch and all he does is stare at me.
"How do I look?" I said and gave a twirl.
I had put on a TARDIS blue dress, silver flats and fixed my blonde hair."Wow, you look stunning." He managed to speak, taking a few steps closer to me. He was wearing a nice-looking suit, with a white shirt. And a dark blue tie.
"I kinda don't want to leave now." He smirked at me and I blushed again.
"Well, I've had some time to think. And Gwen said Jack would take us to dinner, and that means free food. We never say no to free food. Ever." I stated and he chuckled.
"I guess you're right, let's go." He said and took ahold of my hand, but he didn't walk. He just looked into my eyes.
"Oh, by the way, happy birthday Cass." He said smiling and kissed me passionately, and I returned the kiss immediately.
"Thank you." I whispered and leaned my forehead on his.
We walked hand in hand down to the street and Owen hauled a cab, and we made it back to the Hub just in time.
As we entered the main room everything was quiet.
"Where is everybody? They wouldn't have left without us would they?" Owen said and I started panicking.
"What if something happened to them? What if we'll never see them again?" Owen came closer to me and wrapped his arms around me.
"Hey, everything is gonna be fine. They're probably waiting for us in the meeting room where we usually eat, or maybe they're in that big room we've never really used. There are a lot of rooms here where they could be, I'm sure everything will be just fine. Okay?" I just nodded and hugged him tightly.
"Thank you Owen, and I'm sorry that I freaked out." I said into his neck, and he pulled away and held onto my shoulders.
"Don't worry about it, okay? You've been through more than enough for several lifetimes. You have lost so much, I think you have the right to get scared of losing your loved ones." He said and cupped my face, bringing it closer to his.
"Thank you." I whispered and leaned in the rest of the way so our lips could meet in a soft and passionate kiss.
"Let's go find the others." I said and grabbed his hand, dragging him along.
"I've noticed that you never wear heels, why not?"
"When you travel with my dad, you always end up running. So I guess I'm just always prepared to run." I smiled.
"Makes sense." He replied as we reached the meeting room.
"Well, there's no one here. Let's check the big room." Owen said before my mind could wander to darker thoughts.
"Okay." I smiled, and let him drag me there.
As soon as we entered the dark room, I felt like something was off. But I had no time to warn Owen as he turned on the lights.
"HAPPY BIRTDAY!!"
"TIL HAMINGJU MEÐ AFMÆLIÐ!!"
I stared at the group of people in shock, the whole team, my mom, and...
"Dad!" I yelled and ran into his arms, engulfing him in a big hug.
"Didn't think I'd miss your big day now did you?" He smiled and looked at me.
"Thank you dad, for letting me stay here. I've learned so much, and it's so exciting!" He chuckled and his smile got even wider. I turned away from dad and went over to mom.
"Mamma, ég er svo ánægð að sjá þig." (Mom, I'm so happy to see you.) I said and hugged her.
"Ég er ánægð að sjá þig líka elska." (I'm happy too see you too sweetheart.)
"En hvernig komstu hingað?" (But how did you get here?)
"Myndarlegi vinur þinn þarna bauð mér og fékk mér flugmiða." (Your handsome friend over there invited me, and got me a plane ticket.)
"Mamma! Ekki kalla hann það, takk. Hann er yfirmaður minn. Og svo ekki týpan mín. " (Mom! Don't call him that, please. He's my boss. And so not my type.)
"How about we all speak a language everybody understands and speak." Dad said with a smile, although he understood everything, due to the TARDIS's translation circuit. And so did Jack.
"How about that dinner I was promised then Jack? It's the only reason I'm here and not in bed sleeping after all." I smirked, making mum, dad, Jack, and Owen laugh.
