13 and 13, for a few months they would both be this age together. He would be 14 in a bit, everything would slowly change. Despite how fast things were already changing. He rolled his eyes as he sat talking to a pink-haired female and a white-haired male. "Yeah, I can take care of it." the male huffed running a hand through his hair as he leaned back in his chair. The short orangey-red locks easily passing through his fingers. He had not noticed how late it had already gotten. "Shit, you know what, this can wait," he grumbled, swinging his body off the chair and standing up using his core strength.
The two members of the gang he led looked at him with slight annoyance and anger. "Seriously? It wasn't a problem when we were younger, but you have things to get done! You can't keep going off to see whoever they are. It's not like they're one of us!" the white-haired male spoke up first before being shut down with a heavy glare.
"Shut up, she's important to me, alright?" the male shoved his hands in his pockets as he slouched and walked away from the two sheep members. Walking towards the road he kept his hood covering his hair and face.
The sounds of sirens and the color of flashing blue and red forced his legs to stop their walk. The echoing shouts dragged his attention to one thought. His legs began to move again as he raced forward. Stopped by the yellow tape, he activated an ability. Manipulating his own gravity, he reached the rooftop and sprinted across the buildings and tents. The police surrounded the house of the girl he visited daily. Looking around frantically, he spotted not one but two body bags. "Where's the kid?" some officer shouted the words, which pulled like a leash on his attention.
"The others say she usually runs off with a boy, close to her age, a bit taller, red-orange hair. She's probably out playing with him. Should we go find her or wait and see if the two show up?" another called out from near the body bags. The boy's eyes turned into worry as he started to run. It was an odd sensation but there was a feeling he couldn't ignore. Reaching the open beach, he spotted the female looking into the stars.
"I already know! I know okay!" he heard her shouting which caused his eyes to travel over to another male. His deep raven locks flowing in the wind as he sighed.
"(Y/n)... come here." The male's soft smile fooled even the small boy as the female walked towards him, falling into his arms. The pain that squeezed the young male's heart was more than bearable. Walking away, he clicked his tongue.
"Rival," he grumbled with a fit of anger solely spread towards the taller male. He was dressed so finely that even in the darkness of night he stood out.

He hadn't seen the male since that night. He made sure to be there every day for the female. He never asked, but it was clear something had happened. The childish gleam that was once the only thing he saw on her, was now dulled by the tiniest frame. A look similar to his own eyes replaced that fraction. He promised never to ask her about it. Even when her jokes started to lean on the worrying scale.
"Do you know why death can't be a person?" the smaller male sighed shrugging his shoulders as the two of them sat on a metal railing. Several stories above the ground. This place was a very old hangout for the sheep. The two of them spent a ton of time here. Especially when either of them had to talk about something serious, or had nothing else to do. "Death is immortal." she smiled before letting her body slip from the railing with a giggle. The boy next to her glared using his ability to prevent her from hitting the floor.
"The hell short ass doll!" he screamed, anger raging off from his face.
She hid something he noticed, nobody else ever seemed to notice the glint her eyes got whenever he faced her with anger, or another form of misery. "I knew you'd catch me dummy!" she giggled, leaning to kiss the boy's cheek. He stopped her before placing his feet on the floor and walking away. "Come on! You know I didn't mean it!" the female shouted, before the boy turned towards her again.
"You sure about that? You really wanna say that you fuckin idiot? What's with the sudden coverage of your wrists using bandages? What's with the sudden distance?! What happened to being all over the place and fearing heights?! You joke about death and suicide and even study it! You say you don't mean it but look at yourself (L/n). Am I supposed to just believe you're fine?" the words hit her like rocks, but she didn't flinch. Running a hand in her hair, she giggled and smiled. Gripping the edges of her child-like dress, she spun.
"Yeah! I'm fine, see! I trust you more than anything because we're the closest friends! We'll always be friends and I'd never leave you!" letting go of her skirt, it spun to the side before falling back to a resting position.
"Yeah, friends." the boy grumbled walking to her. He pulled her into a hug holding the back of her head softly. "I'll be here, that's a promise," he whispered.
"Come on, I want to play! Let's go to the beach like we used to!" the female smiled, patting her friend on his head. He didn't question anything else that night. He walked with her along the water. He'd smile here and there, though it was more forced. She laughed and giggled. Occasionally teasing him here and there.
There was one question always weighing on him. Just who was the man she had been with the night of her parents' murder?
