Stirring sugar into her tea, the female looked up into the warm blue of the sky. Across from her sat a female. Her purple hair and green eyes staring at the female. "You know, I really hate you Nine."

(Y/n) decided to take the subtle threat seriously. Grabbing a small bag, she tossed a few pieces of jewelry into it. Puffing her cheeks out, she set out for an outdoor cafe. It was close to the slums but far enough not to be found suspicious. That was the only reason she sat across from the older woman. "You know, I really hate you Nine," she grumbled with a pout. She'd found the number encoded within the letters. It was in a code the members of this organization would use to communicate when they couldn't trust text or call. The weird style of handwriting made certain letters stand out. Those letters all stood for numbers. Tapping her finger against the table, she waited on a reply.
"Assassin to detective. You never stop confusing us (Y/n)." Nine spoke as she tapped her finger against the table. "You haven't changed one bit. Still manipulative, filthy, and addicted to alcohol. You do still drink to keep away those urges right? When it gets too bad you still let go. You know, you should thank us for teaching you how to let go and get around the voices." Nine waved a gloved hand as if to emphasize how she thought so highly of herself.
"Ah yes, I should thank the organization that brought out this urge and taught me to kill rather than control it." she rolled her eyes before taking a sip of her tea. "Trust me Nine. Had I a choice, I'd have said fuck you a long time ago." The amused expression on Nine's face was nothing but pure amusement.
"Oh, I know you would have. You did enjoy it though. Otherwise, you would have sought out help a while ago. Come on, you're still drinking to black-out. I bet you daydream about that ginger still. You still kill people (Y/n). Have you ever tried to change that? I don't see therapy on your to-do list. I don't even see opening up to your new friends on your list of things." sipping her own cup of tea, the female smiled kindly.
"I hate you," (Y/n) huffed, grabbing one of the pastries and popping it into her mouth.
"Only because you know I'm right dear. Plus, I helped you get rid of that awful fiance. You just had to run off with what you should have paid me for doing so." glaring, the smaller female reached into her purse and shoved the jewel towards her. "So you admit to running away with it."
Clicking her tongue, the female looked to the side. "I liked it," she mumbled, puffing her cheeks out.
"I know, that's why I wanted you to hand it over dear." balling her hands into fists, the (e/c)-eyed female stood up. "We're not done doing business. You are still a member. If you were to... say, walk away. I would be able to hand over proof of your crimes. I'm sure your new job would adore seeing what a monster they let in." the female's eyes glossed over with a dark, unreadable, and murderous cloud.
"Lord, have mercy on you if you fuck my life up Nine." laughing lightly, the female sipped her tea.
"I can't kill you, but I could use the same threat your fiance used with you. Leave or disobey and I'll just... kill the ginger. Locating him was our first priority. Using that we located you, learning what you did for a living. Learned about the new relationships you had and created a lovely plan that can be used against you." Nine's melodic voice did not match her sinister smile. The crooked lift of her lips only added to her threatening aura. "You know, there has never been a failed mission where I've set the entire organization out." clenching her hands, the female sat back down.
"I hate you." she hissed again. Taking out a notepad, she took notes.
When Nine was finished she had a summarization of things. She'd be under the radar for two years. The excuse would be her own safety. She'd tell them she handed over the jewel but thought it best to stay under for two years. She would receive targets every four months. She'd earn 15% of the total bounty. The rest would go to the other assassins.
"We're done here," Nine hummed standing up, she walked away disappearing into the streets. (Y/n) sat there creating notes for both chuuya and the agency.
~
She invited chuuya to the bar they hung around. She left the note for him to find there. When he showed up, he read over the note.
"I'm sorry chu. I trust you not to tell anybody, especially the people at the ADA. I worked as an assassin in London. It wasn't my choice at first. It appears I pissed them off. You see, I was a valued member of the organization. I made a lot of single missions work. I ran away after aiding in my fiance's assassination. I took with me the payment that was due. They found me and because I'm still under contract for another two years, I'm going underground for a bit. I wouldn't if I didn't fear for your life and the agencies, as well as my career as a detective. I know you'll be mad I'm leaving and won't have contact but I promise to return within two years." Chuuya glared at the letter, burning it as soon as he finished reading over its contents. Drinking alone, he grumbled how much of an idiot his friend was.
~
(Y/n) snuck into the agency building that night. Planting the letter for the members she sighed.
In the morning, Dazai was the first to read it aloud. "Hey, I know I haven't been working here for too long, but I need to hide for a bit. I met with the organization and handed over the jewel. It didn't go as well as I planned. For the next two or so years, I won't have any contact. Keep a spot open at the agency for me! I will return to you guys, promise. I wanted to keep you guys safe, as well as keep myself safe. I know this isn't the ideal situation but, it's for the best. I may do some work secretly and find a way to get my findings to you. Best of luck, (Y/n)." Kunikida sighed pinching the brim of his nose.
"She officially hits the top of my most hated people. I didn't think anybody could ever top your name Dazai." smiling, Dazai put his hands on his hips.
"She would be honored." Dazai snickered but his mind was turning cogs. She wasn't being 100% honest with them in this letter. He'd let it go, after all, he had been an executive of the port mafia. He had no right to pry into her past.
