Today is Scarlett's eighth birthday!
Today, Jake and Alex are just going to have a small little birthday party at home with the kids and their pets!
Next weekend, Scarlett is going to invite a bunch of her best friends over to have a eighth birthday slumber party! Scarlett can't wait to finally have some friends over and to have a night full of pizza, sweet treats and presents!
Jake and Alex wanted this weekend to be full of family time, since they haven't gotten a lot of that lately with Alex working and the four older kiddos - Scarlett, Aurora, Levi and Avery going back into school and not having lots of virtual school right now.
Right now, Jake, Scarlett, Aurora, Levi, Avery, Ruby, Kai, Taytum and Lucky the dog are all outside enjoying the California sunshine while Swifty, Kacey, Gaga and Underwood are all inside enjoying some cat nip!
Meanwhile, Alex is driving fifty minutes to the pound to pick up a special dog as a birthday present for Scarlett's eighth birthday!
One of Scarlett's best friends Michaely recently adopted a dog from the pound!
After Michaely told Scarlett about adopting her dog from the pound, Scarlett went on the pound website and instantly fell in love with this four year Border Collie named Dorothy.
Dorothy's owners had died a few months back and nobody has wanted to adopt her due to having stomach issues and needing a special diet.
Scarlett told both Jake and Alex about Dorothy and asked if they could adopt her for her eighth birthday.
Jake and Alex didn't want to say yes or no to Scarlett because they didn't want Scarlett to get super excited about getting Dorothy and then get disappointed if it didn't happen.
Jake and Alex bought Scarlett about ten birthday gifts for her to open up on her birthday today! Scarlett really appreciate and loves them of course but she really wanted to see Dorothy with a big bow on her instead.
Alex has just picked up Dorothy from the pound and he picked up a few things for her like her special dog food, some toys, her favorite blanket and a brand new dog bed!
As Alex drives back home with Dorothy by his side, Kai and Taytum are happily sitting on Jake's lap, Ruby, Scarlett and Aurora are drawing with chalk and Levi and Avery are jumping on the Kirk's brand new trampoline they Jake and Alex bought all of the kids for Christmas!
