CHAPTER SEVEN

I knocked on the door, then we waited patiently for someone to open the door. I heard a little voice running over to open the door and it revealed Stella, our ten-year-old sister. "Maya!" She shouted with her arms out going in for a hug "and hello to you too Stella" I greeted her hugging her back "how about us" Ted and Trevor said she just shrugged walked back inside "I guess she likes me better" I said then walked inside.

The house looks exactly the same and nothing has changed. I looked around smiling. I really miss it here.

"Maya you're finally here" I heard my mother said then comes over and hugs me "hello mother," I said. Behind I saw someone that I thought I wasn't going to see again "Martin?" I questioned if it's really him "I thought you were in Australia" I said putting my bags down "I heard you were coming back home so I got the first flight out here to meet you again" he explains "you didn't have to you know" I said "hey I miss you and like I said here to meet you again" he said then hugging me.

"I'm interrupting something?" A voice behind us said. I turned around and I saw Alissa standing there "ALISSA!" I shouted giving her a big hug "it's nice to see you too, Maya" she said laughing.

I've known Alissa since kindergarten, we were playing with play dough together and I asked her to be her friend and she obviously said yes and we hit it off since then.

Martin, on the other hand, we both in freshman year of high school and he was trying out of football, which he got in.

Now, the three of us are great friends.

Martin and Alissa both helped to put my stuff into my room and also helped to unpack my stuff as well. After that, all three of us hanged out in my room playing chess "CHECKMATE!" I shouted with happiness with my hands up in the air. my mother instantly bursting into the room and told us to be quiet because there were people downstairs, so I did what she said.

We continued playing chess but after a while, you're got bored so we started talking about other stuff "so, Maya what is your love life like?" Alissa asked coming closer to me sitting right beside me. Are you just sit in my sitting position then cleared my throat nervously "well it's kind of complicated I mean do you have other guy friends but I'm not interested in them" I answered she crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow then crossing her arms.

"Ok maybe I do have a crush on one of my guy friends" her eyes lit up and she squealed like a little girl "Who is it? Tell me" Martin and Alissa now are sitting right beside me "if I tell you guys you will go crazy and be stalkers and dig information about him" I explained "please tell us to please," they both said pulling at the bottom lip looking at me.

Ugh they are so annoying, but I love them

"Okay fine I'll tell you" I give in cleared my throat and started talking "his names Vinnie Hacker and-" I heard typing on their phones "really guys I knew you gonna do this," I said "oh, he's cute" I heard Alissa said and Martin looked at her and took her phone away "oh baby stop," She said reaching for her phone back what did I just hear "Guys what are you guys dating?" I asked they look at each other then back at me "yes" Martin answered kissing her "alright alright" I said looking away.

"How long has this been happening," I said referring to their relationship "six months," Alissa asked my eyes widened "SIX MONTHS" I shouted "and you guys never even called me or texted me about this" I rambled "sorry it's just that you can get a little overprotective" she explains "remember my ex Jacob," she said "yeah, I remember" I answered "you always hang out with us everywhere and every time a girl or a guy comes up to us you like to shoo them away and you just never left us alone so that's why had to break up" she explained "oh I'm sorry" I apologised.

We all continued talking when my mum shouted from downstairs "DINNERS READY" she shouted. We went downstairs and straight to the kitchen. Smelling some yummy as we sat down on our chairs and started eating "mmm this is yummy mum" I said enjoying my meal. After we were finished I insisted to do the dishes "hey mum I'll do the dishes you just relax" I insisted. I finally finished doing the dishes and I went upstairs and started to do my night routine and Alissa and Martin left to go home.
I finished doing my night routine and in bed about to go to sleep when I get a text.
