CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

Today is my birthday, and let me tell you, I don't do something special for my birthday. I only watch Netflix and eat snacks before four a.m., and that's how I like it. No gifts, no party. I know I'm the most boring girl on the plant, but like I always said, I don't like parties. My song drops today and I'm excited to show everyone because I told them not to show anyone else til it drops. Even, for the past month, everybody has been convincing me to throw a party. I don't like parties, as I always say.

"Come on, Maya, it's your birthday, and there's no fun without a party." Mia begged, "really, you're like the most boring person ever," Kouvr said, and I sighed, "fine, I'll have a party, but nothing too big, okay?" I eventually agreed, "great!" They both shouted excitedly. As we were chatting, I felt someone wrap their arm around mine, and I knew immediately who it was. "Happy birthday, my love," He said I was Vinnie. When I smiled at him and kissed his cheek, he grabbed my wrist, pulled me off the couch, and took me outside to his room.

He pulled into his bed, shutting the door behind him, and began kissing me deeply, pulling me tighter to him and wrapping my arms around his neck. He grabbed my waist, and I wrapped my legs around his waist while walking over to his bed and kissing me. We were passionately kissing when we were interrupted by a knock on the door.

"Who is it?" He asked when putting on his shirt, "It's Thomas, have you seen Maya because she's not in her room and I'm assuming she's here," he explains. I immediately took my shirt and put it on. I walked up to the door and opened it, saying, "Hey, Thomas, what's up?" I asked him, "Maya, I just need you in the living room," he said.

I followed him downstairs and ran into someone I hadn't seen in three months: "Alissa!" I yelled, running up to her and giving her a big hug. "Good to see you, Maya," she replied, "what are you doing here?" I asked her how happy she was to be here. "I'm here for your birthday party, and Thomas flew me here, and I'm staying for the week," she explained.

I took Alissa into my room and told her, "You should sleep in my room for the week." She sighed and said, "Where are you going to sleep?" She inquired, "I'm going to sleep with Vinnie in his bed," I replied, then realised what I had meant, "what! You and Vinnie are dating!" She said, "We've been dating for a month!" I said, and she screaming in excitement.

Mia and Kouvr bursted into my room "ready for party birthday girl!" They both said really excited I looked at Alissa and back at them "hey Mia, Kouvr this is Alissa, Alissa this is Mia and Kouvr" I said introducing them to Alissa. The three of them hit it off, talking and laughing.

When they were having fun, I went downstairs to the kitchen to get something to eat. As I was walking to the kitchen, I saw Vinnie standing by the doorway, talking to his brother. Instead of heading to the kitchen, I approached them and said, "hey guys, what's up?" I inquired, "oh so you're the girl Vinnie couldn't stop talking about," his brother said, and I saw Vinnie blushing, "are you blushing baby?" I asked him while gazing at him.

"Not at all." He denied it, and I could see he was blushing, but he wouldn't admit it. After we finished chatting, we said our goodbyes to his brother, he smiled and Vinnie said, "So, I heard you're having a party for your birthday today." "Are you excited?" He inquired, "I mean, they convinced me to have a party, so I said okay, and then Mia and Kouvr got excited, and now they are planning my birthday party," I explained.

He laughs, "you just don't want this birthday party, do you?" I shake my head, "just enjoy it, it'll be fun," he says, kissing my forehead. Mia and Kouvr told me to sit in my room as I wait for Vinnie to take me downstairs to the party. I was on the phone, bored out of my mind, when I heard someone enter my room and realised it was Vinnie.

"My love, the party is waiting for you," he said, extending his hand and taking mine. We were almost there, and he covered my eyes with his hands and led me to the party.

He removes his hands from my eyes, and everybody yells "SURPRISE!" and not just the hype house was there. Triller Compound and Sway were also present. I put on a dumb party hat and screamed, "LETS PARTY!"

Everyone was having the best of their life, with loud music playing. We're two hours into the party and I'm about to release my song, so I paused the music and drew everyone's attention. "I'd just like to thank Mia and Kouvr for making this happen," I said, smiling, "yeah, and also my song 'Ocean Eyes' releases now, so go check it out," I added, dropping the mic.

An hour later, everybody is all hyped up and having a good time, including me, who is having a great time partying with my friends and boyfriend.

As we were all partying and singing along to the noisy music, I bumped into someone and turned around to see someone I felt I'd never see again.

"Hey, birthday girl."
