A small, fragile, overwhelming tear left Peter's eyes as his lips left the hold on your hand and instead, landed themselves on your cheek.

"Are you okay?" He asked with a wary tone.

"Why do I feel so..light?"

"Wait am I high?" You said, followed by a giggle.

"Y/n, just calm down for a second"

"Why were you kissing my hand?" You smiled.

Peter sighed, a breeze of warmth and relief brush his chest. It was this sort of stuff that you do, that let's him know you were enough to be okay.

All that from one smile.

"Y/n, do you remember what happened?"

"Yea, broke out for your webs, took a cab, helped some people and the bomb─why does it hurt everywhere?" You blabbered before groaning.

Peter was stunned of how calm you were, expecting a fearful or worried response.

"You cracked your back when the bomb exploded and cracked it back in place when you hit the wall"

"Ouch" You winced for yourself.

"How's the team? Are you okay?"

"Yes, we're all okay, just take it easy alright?" You didn't know the comfort that Peter bringing on you until he was getting up to leave your side to call the team outside.

"No, wait,"

Peter's wary expression softened when he noticed your fragile state. You didn't have to explain as he held your hand again and moved closer to you. He just knew.

Your silence gave him the opportunity to call the team, alongside your dad on the line and told them everything that just happened. They currently got their best S.H.I.E.L.D agents to take over today's mission as they handled the more difficult parts before departing from the scene.

It was weird this feelings you had. It was calm and peaceful. You almost died, you could've. But you didn't and that was just luck. Yet, you still maintained a firm attitude and a calm sensibility and all it took was to know that the people you cared about were safe and healthy. Ofcourse you were still a little shook up because the last thing you remember was the explosion and you wake up on a hospital bed, seeing Peter's worried face.

Although that this day was a little traumatising and something that you dont want to remember, you could never forget when you threw yourself towards a grenade. You didn't even have to think twice.

It seems so stupid then but now that you thought about it, you would throw yourself at it a hundred more times if it meant protecting anyone you cared about. It wasn't easy for you but your family was enough to make you do the unthinkable. It was just instincts.

"Aww, my baby" There comes your dad barging through the door with his arms opened, extending you in a hug. Followed by Tony was the team all sweaty and bruised and luckily not all bloody. Audible sighs could be heard around the room once they finally saw you all safe and out of harm.

"Dad, I'm fine" You said after he wouldn't let go of the hug.

"If you seriously ever pull another stunt like this agai-"

"Tony," Nat warned as she appeared by his side.

Tony immediately stopped talking once he realised what he was doing.
