S.W.A.T. A new team member

Chapter 9

Strong drove her car to the hospital, she went into Chris' room and asked "are you ready?" Chris packed the last of her things into her gym bag. She replied "yes, in five minutes." Strong came closer to her and asked "can I help you?" Chris shook her head and closed the bag. Chris tried to lift the bag but it was too heavy, she gasped and dropped the bag to the floor. Strong asked excitedly "Is everything okay Chris?" Chris tried to downplay her pain but Strong decided to carry the bag for Chris, she said "I'll carry the bag." She grabbed the bag and walked with Chris to their car. They drove to the middle of LA to the high rise where Strong lives. She pulled into the underground parking garage under the high-rise and said to Chris "Hey, we're here." Chris looked around. Strong and Chris got out of the car. Chris asked "You really live in the middle of LA?" Strong nodded proudly "Yeah, I have to admit my job at S.W.A.T. pays better than yours." She grabbed Chris's bag before Chris could take it and walked with her to the elevator. Reaching the top of the apartment, Chris had to laugh and said "You've been living here for two months and you've barely unpacked anything?" Strong scratched the back of her head in embarrassment. She led Chris into the bedroom "Here's a second mattress you can use." Strong said and picked up a mattress and placed it on a slatted frame. Chris said "That's really kind but I could have slept on the sofa..." Strong looked at her sternly and said "With an injury that just healed? No way!" Chris was really grateful to Strong. In the evening they ordered sushi and watched a football game on the TV they had set up earlier. After that, they went to sleep.
The next morning, out of habit, Chris woke up almost at the same time as Strong. She went to the kitchen, Strong was eating a sandwich, when she noticed Chris she asked with her mouth full "Oh Chris, you're already awake?" Chris sat down with her and replied "I woke up this early out of habit." Strong handed Chris the second sandwich she had made and said "You can have that. I hope to be back around eight." Strong grabbed her backpack and headed off to work. Chris waved goodbye to her and bit into the sandwich.
Strong drove to the main precinct. Once there, she went straight to Lt. Lynch. She knocked on the door "Lt. Lynch, it's Strong can I come in?" Lynch let her in. Lynch asked "What are you coming to see me about?" Strong scratched the back of his head and said "Well, they told me they were helping me. With the thing with my brother." Lynch laid the papers she had in hand on her desk. She said "I'm afraid it's not that easy to protect them. I can only suggest to them in the sense that I have her brother Jacob under surveillance." Strong thanked her and went into the locker room and changed into her S.W.A.T. clothes. Deacon came into the locker room with Luca, when Deacon spotted Strong he asked "Hey, Strong do you have any new info on Chris?" Strong tied her shoes, looked up and replied "I picked her up from the hospital yesterday. She's at my house now on Friday she's coming here with me. She's looking forward to seeing you guys again." Deacon and Luca looked at each other in wonder. Luca asked "She's staying with you now? Did we miss anything?" Strong blushed and replied "We're not together, she just told me she didn't have a place to live right now. I offered her, then, that she could stay with me for now." She left the locker room.
