Chapter 12

Lt. Lynch was standing in dispatch, just taking another close look at the route from Strong's ride, when Street arrived with Chris. Street walked up to Lynch and said "I brought Chris here like you asked..." Lynch turned briefly and said with relief "Chris! Thank goodness nothing has happened to you yet!" Chris asked anxiously "What have they found out so far?" Lynch looked at her and said "Well, forensics found blood from Strong on the steering wheel but no evidence that she flew out of the car. Overall she appears to have been forcibly taken from the car!" Chris continued to ask "Did we also find a clue, as to her whereabouts?" Hondo came into the control room and answered Chris' question "I'm afraid we still haven't found any clues as to Strong's whereabouts." Chris lowered himself into a chair and whispered frantically "Where are you Strong?" Lynch chatted with Hicks about the latest signals. Chris recalled a conversation with Strong

FLASHBACK:

Strong and Chris were sitting on the sofa talking Strong asked "Have you ever heard of Secret Messages that you can hide on your phone?" Chris shook his head. Strong explained "Well you go on calls and dial in a numbers, the numbers in the number stand for letters. Hardly anyone can use that method." Chris asked curiously "Can you?" Strong just nodded in confirmation.

FLASHBACK ENDING:

Chris stood up "There's an encrypted message on Romy's phone!" Everyone turned to her and Lynch asked "What do you mean?" Chris explained "Romy once explained to me how to save a SECRET message on the cell phone! Is there any way they can get the phone working again or at least back up the last numbers entered?" Lynch thought about it and replied "We can try."
Half an hour later, a message came from the lab. Lynch said "So Alonso, you can now show us what Strong taught you." She opened the list of Strong's last dialed numbers. She pointed to the top number and exclaimed "This number is definitely a message from Romy! One moment please." She grabbed a sheet and wrote on it. Hondo and the others watched her with interest. Street looked over her shoulder and his look became more and more confused. Chris finally said "She wrote that the guys were talking about a warehouse in Souht LA and she wrote help!" Commander Hicks shouted "Okay! Hondo you and your team search all the warehouses. Let's go, let's go we can't waste any time!"
