2. I take it as a compliment

It's Friday night and I am about to submit my work to Professor gorgeous.

I decided against using the new excitement in my life as inspiration. I don't want it to be more awkward than it already is, but this is inspiring me regardless and I write more content that I decide not to share. Keep it for later. It may come handy.

For this assignment I thought I'd use my experience with Jiwon. I feel that seeing the kind of guy Jaebeom is, his friend is probably a tortured soul and singing about love and passion might be something she has come across numerous times, maybe boring her. I'm just making assumptions here. My point of view on economical and class issues is not a passion of mine, so I know I wouldn't be able to write about it.

My relationship with Jiwon affected me: the lack of spark, passion, deep feelings, longing, excitement. All this made me question their existence and my right to experience it. I'm thirty and I have not experienced love. Pathetic. I must be a lost cause. That's good content for a song. Ha!

We'll see what she thinks but I am not deluded.

I finish my work but my computer crashes just before I can press submit. Damn it! I try to charge it for a while, nothing does it. It's 10pm, I have two hours before the deadline and no way to contact him to explain. Desperate, I take an Uber to campus and head straight to the library where I know there is an IT hot desk. A guy is sitting behind the counter, his feet on the desk, concentrated on his phone.

"Hello?" Startled, he drops his phone loudly on the desk, generating a series of 'shhh' from working students and making me chuckle at the same time. This is comical.

He stares in their direction and scoffs.

"They're just pretending to work. Sorry. Can I help you?" He's cute!

"Hi. Yes, I have an assignment to send in the next..." I check my watch. "...hour and thirty minutes and my laptop just crashed on me."

"Did you save it?"

"Yes."

"Did you try to turn it off and back on?"

"Yes, and I left it in charge for ten minutes and it did nothing. I don't think the battery was flat."

"Ok, let me have a quick look. Can you please fill in this form with your details in the meantime?"

As he focuses on it, I then see his eyes moving really quickly looking at the screen.

"Is it working?"

"Well, it's not dead yet, but it's knackered. What did you do to the poor thing?" He asks with a small smile. He's really cute.

"I'm working it hard. I'm very demanding."

"Oh you are?" He smirks. "You look harmless to me."

"Perceptions are deceiving." He stands up straight, staring at me, raising an eyebrow and making me feel unsettled by his physique, which until now was hiding behind the desk. "Aren't you supposed to fix it?"

"Don't worry Noona, it's restarting, repairing the damage you've made."

"What?"

"Sssshhhh!!!" Damn it! I woke the whiners! He laughs at me. He's got a beautiful smile, sparkling brown eyes.

"I didn't do anything." I protest quietly.

"This is an old model, you need something new."

"It's only four years old."

"Four years is a lot." Gosh, he's what, twenty two, twenty three? I'm thirty. If four years is a lot, seven years is... Why does it matter anyway? "I mean four years is a lot only in computer years." He smirks. Did he just hear my thoughts? Change subject!
