3. I like Tequila, a bit too much

"And the winner is..." We all look at each other. "...Ina!" Really? I didn't think my song was that good. Jaebeom looks at me smiling with what seems like pride.

I get congratulations from the others before they leave. I start to pack my things and he comes closer.

"I didn't think you were going to submit something."

"My laptop died on me, so I had to rush to campus to get it fixed."

"That was lucky. She enjoyed the latest submission, although she liked the first one too."

"Did you tell her it was about you?"

"No." He says shyly, rubbing the back of his head.

"So are you going to tell me who it is for?"

"Well she invited you to meet at her place tonight. She's having a few friends over." I suddenly feel intimidated and kind of scared.

"Will you come with me?" He chuckles with an irresistible crooked smile.

"Of course."

"When you say a few friends... Is it a party or something chilled? What's the dress code?"

"First, you need to relax, it's gonna be just fine."

"I'm not sure. I'm not in that kind of circle."

"What do you mean?"

"Cool people." He smiles.

"You're cool." He's nice but I know I'm not cool. "It's not about what you wear, although there nothing wrong with what you wear. It's not about what you do. All her friends are not in showbiz. They're all very nice. You don't need to wear anything different than usual. It's chilled."

"Okay." His gaze and smile, reassure me. "Shall we meet there?"

"I'll pick you up at 8pm. Is that okay?"

"I have class tomorrow so I can't stay. I can take an Uber to go home."

"I'll take you there and back." He shakes his head.

"What?" I ask, curious about his sudden reaction.

"Nothing. You're funny. You like to be in control don't you?"

"Guilty. I've always looked after myself and planned everything to make sure I'd save enough money to go back to school. I did better than I had planned and was able to start a couple of years earlier. So it pays off to be in control I think."

"You can't always be in control of everything in your life though. You know that, right?"

Walking closer to me, I suddenly feel his cat's eyes piercing through me and I know what he is referring to. No I can't control my heart racing at this very moment. As hard as I try to slow it down, it just doesn't let itself harness. When is he going to stop walking towards me with so much intent? What is he going to do? Why are my hands sweating?

Finally standing right in my face, he crouches and comes back up, my scarf, which was laying on the floor, between his fingers and wraps it around my neck softly.

"I know." I say as my voice cracks.

"Good." He steps away. "Can I have your number and address please?" It takes me half a second to wake up and realise why he needs it. Duh!

Handing me his phone, I put my details in and he calls my phone straight away.

"In case something comes up and you need to reach me."

"Oh! Sure. Thanks. See you tonight."

I leave as he packs his things. I need to stop having these feelings taking over every time he speaks to me, looks at me, stands next to me, breathes, exists... Yeah... I have no chance. When we're in class, I'm okay. He speaks to the audience with his teacher's voice, through the microphone and never looks in my direction so I know I'm safe. But when he uses his normal voice and looks at me with these beautiful eyes of his, I lose it. I'm a thirty year old woman. Why do I feel like an inexperienced teenager?
