It had been a few days since school started and classes were on full swing. Jongho had made some new friends from his current classes as well. He even hung out with Kang Yeosang, a classmate from one of the subjects he took.In fact, the two of them were gonna meet up to do assignments together that day. He did inform Yeosang about his other engagement to meet his mentor beforehand.
The thoughts of the long-haired beauty warmed Jongho's heart. They had met a few times since. Soyi was easy to talk to and very detailed in her explanation about each thing he didn't understand. They had finished getting him his library membership the other day. As each day passed, he was concerned about the end of the mentoring program being closer.
To be completely honest, Jongho had enjoyed every moment they got to spend together. Whenever they met, his heart raced a little faster and he couldn't suppress his smiles. Her bubbly personality shone through each day and it amazed him how she had been so easy to get comfortable with.
On one of the phone calls they had when they couldn't meet, Jongho learned that Soyi enjoyed karaoke as much as he did. Therefore, he had invited her to go with him as a token of gratitude the day after. That day, despite his initial nervousness, he had such a wonderful time.
Meeting her at the karaoke place she claimed to be her favorite spot, he couldn't help but felt giddy. She had on a white blouse with a light blue ruffle at the edges which she paired with dark blue denim shorts. Everything about that day felt like they were on a date. Unfortunately, he knew it was most certainly not the case for her. One so charming like her couldn't be single, right?
Jongho was brought back from his daydream when his phone rang.
"Hi, Yeosang. Are you downstairs?" He asked as he quickly put on his jacket.
"Ah yeah. I will just wait for you here" Yeosang said.
Grabbing his bag, he walked out to the door.
"I am on my way" he said before hanging up and locking the door. The two boys headed up to student hall where Jongho was to meet Soyi. When they arrived the student hall were slightly crowded, but Soyi was still not there. They decided to sit in one of the empty study booth.
Jongho's phone beeped, alerting him of Soyi's text. He stood up and looked at the entrance."Noona, here" he waved to her.
"Soyi noona? Are you Jongho's mentor?" Yeosang asked as soon as Soyi was close.
"Yeosangie. How do you know Jongho?" Soyi questioned.
"Yeosang is my classmate. How do you two know each other?" Confused, Jongho switched gaze between the two of them.
"I am friends with Yeosang's sister" Soyi explained as she took a seat.
Jongho and Soyi then went on with their discussion about Jongho's paperwork while Yeosang played on his phone. When everything was sorted, Soyi stayed a little while asking both boys about their classes before she left.
Jongho was staring at the direction that Soyi had disappeared to. This didn't get unnoticed by Yeosang.
"Jongho, do you like Soyi noona?" his question took the other by surprise.
"I-I- No." He stumbled on his words.
"Oh that's a yes" Yeosang chuckled.
"No. She's just very sweet and kind. And I am very thankful she had helped me" Jongho played with the edge of the table.
"You're blushing" teased Yeosang
"No! I am not" Jongho's hands were quickly covering his cheeks.
Jongho eventually gave up and told Yeosang about how he saw Soyi before knowing she was the mentor. His friend listened and would occasionally teased him here and there. Yeosang spoke briefly about how Soyi had been friends with his noona for long and they would hang out at his house some times.
The boys managed to finish their assignments despite Yeosang's steady stream of teasing to Jongho. They headed home soon after and it was dark by the time they both went their separate ways.
