Chapter 10: Burn!

I didn't expect to meet him again and Mr. Douglas knows about the powers or what do you call them. I want to know about these and maybe I can learn them from Mr. Douglas. Hmmm...I wonder if Gabriel's power is to teleport like what he did to me and maybe he is the man spotted in the surveillance cameras that is why electricity didn't affect him. I was thinking deeply that I got lost on my thoughts.

"Hey! You okay there?" Gabriel lightly pushed me in the back.

"Yeah, I was just thinking about somethings." I recovered from being lost in my thoughts.

"I haven't properly introduced myself to you, I'm Gabriel Knighte and I will be your boss as my dad said." He extended his hands to me and smiled.

"I'm Jennifer Brave and I'm looking forward to work with you. Wait what's with the change of attitude?!" I did a forced smile and shook his hands.

Why does he have to be my boss...I'm totally into him the moment I saw him even though it was the worst way of meeting him...My thoughts is running wild again. Those amber eyes that I can't stop staring at. I don't know what to do. My heart is pounding really fast. I got lost easily in my thoughts again and I can see him talking but all I can hear are gibberish words that came out with his voice. He came closer and closer like his going to kiss me. I can't breathe because my heart is beating faster and faster.

He tapped my nose and I came back to my senses awkwardly. I faced the ground for a while trying to avoid eye contact.

"Hellooo! Are you listening to me? Hmmm...are you sick or what? Dad is still on his phone call." He looked at me confused and damn cute.

What the hell is wrong with me? Is it because I never had a boyf—no no no no! That's not it, I'm just tired or whatever.

"I'm fine! Yeah fine! I was just thinking that you should have ki—told me about uhmmm..." I panicked as I almost have said something too embarrassing.

"Told you about what?" He confusedly asked.

"Told me about...everything when we first met!" I said with confidence.

"I was not really sure you had the power to electrocute and you kept asking a lot of questions so damn annoying then now you kept daydreaming of somethings." He teased.

"I'm not daydreaming you know! And FYI you are the annoying one duh! Wait how the heck did you not get hurt when I electrocuted you that day?!" I angrily said.

Before he got to say anything, Douglas called us.

"Ready to go?" Douglas came to us and asked.

I nodded.

"Then come along now, children!" Douglas chuckled.

I followed Mr. Douglas then Gabriel came along. We got in the elevator and mr. Douglas pushed a lot of buttons in the elevator then it starts descending. Is it a secret pass code. Hmmm...I think so.

"So Jennifer, who else knows about your powers aside from you and your parents." Douglas asked.

Gabriel was being silent and texting or just typing something on his phone while I stared a little bit at him then I was startled when mr. Douglas asked me, luckily I have not been caught hahaha.

"Uhmmm...my bestfriend knows and I can trust her with it." I assuredly said.

"Well then never reveal it to the public because it might cause a huge problem and for your own safety." Douglas tapped my shoulder and smiled.
