Chapter 18: Extinguished!

*Beep!*
The alarm clock rang at exactly 4:30 in the morning.

*yawn* I'm still a little bit sleepy but I have to go to work...I'm already better. Hmmm...is Lyndon still sleeping? I better check.

I prepared my things and clothes for work then got out of my room.

"Good morning Jenn...how's your fever?" Lyndon greeted and asked.

"I'm good! Thanks for being here with me...I don't know how to repay you—" He didn't let me finish.

"I told you that it is what friends are for...but anyway maybe you can visit my home soon." He exclaimed.

"Sure! I'll be glad to visit your home." I joyfully said.

"I better head home Jenn, see ya! Careful on your way to work and if you need anything or what, just call or message me...okay?" He got out of the apartment and waved goodbye to me.

"Sure! Thanks! You too!" I shouted.

I'm so embarassed...It's like I became a burden to him. Better be ready for work I have to be there at exactly 7 a.m.
It will be kind of awkward seeing my boss but set aside personal feelings in work. I'll just pretend nothing happened.

Hmmm...when would Jessie be here? I just remember she said it would be this day but I don't know what time since I have to go to work. I'll just message her.

I took a bath, changed clothes, make breakfast and eat, brush my teeth, then prepared my things and still I have an hour to laze.

I sat on the couch and turned on the television to watch but the very first to appear on screen was a news about the bridge from my hometown, Kaden Cove. The bridge collapsed so reroute will happen. It takes roughly 2 days from there to here but without that bridge it might take 4 days or more...what the! Of all the bridges in the world! Maybe they are doing renovations secretly though.

"It is reported that an animal of a certain species crushed the pillar underneath the bridge...a giant gorilla I think?" The anchorwoman said.

"How possible that a gorilla can crush a pillar that big? Hahaha...I think a monster did it." The anchorman laughed.

I turned off the television...I felt something bad is going to happen. I'll just go to work early. I wonder if Jessie changed her mind or not. Maybe she got stranded because of the bridge. She will just call me or message me for update. Well time to go!

I got out of the apartment then started walking to the bus stop to wait. A bus stopped several minutes later then I got inside then sat on the empty spot.

~Several minutes later~

The bus arrived in the bus stop near the park then I have to walk to my workplace. I check the time in my wristwatch, it is still 6:28 a.m. I continued walking until I reached my destination.

Well, Rachel is already there...why is she always early...I'm thinking she's kind of an android or somewhat a cyborg! Just kidding! I walked inside NoVacorp.

"Goodmorning Ms. Alison!" I joyfully greeted her.

"Goodmorning too Ms. Brave!" She greeted back.

"Oh! you can just call me Jennifer" I smiled.

"Then just call me Rachel too! Hahaha." She laughed.

"So is Mr. Knighte already here?" I asked.

"Which one?" She answered me with a question. Obviously because there is two Knighte here.
