Chapter 19: Ascending Trials!

No! It can't be! I abruptly woke up. Where am I? Why do I feel weak so I keep observing my surroundings...by the look of it I'm at a hospital. Oh no! Gabriel!

"GABRIEL!" I panicked and shouted several times.

Two nurses and a doctor came rushing in my hospital room.

"Ms. Brave calm down. You have not yet recovered please stay calm." The doctor calmly told me.

"Where is Gabriel?!" I shouted in a worry to the doctor.

"Gabriel who?" The doctor asked.

"The man with me in that accident. Please tell me he is okay!" I said in a worry as tears started streaming down my face.

"Oh the young man, Mr. Douglas knighte's son. Sorry to say but we can't tell you...so please take a rest until you recover." The doctor told me calmly.

I relaxed myself and drift asleep but still thinking about Gabriel because I know it was my fault due to me being foolish and hard-headed.

I fell asleep minutes later. I woke up again in a pitch-black surroundings. Where am I this time? I looked around but it seems I can't see anything except a purple glowing round object.

Hmmm...another suspicious object that I'm too curious not to touch it so I walked close to it then tried to grab it but it suddenly exploded then the surrounding has changed in an instant.

I'm in a forest with a cave behind me. I can hear the sound of the gushing water from the river, the sound of the birds, the wind blowing, and the tree leaves falling. I realized that I was supposedly in the hospital right now. Is this another dream like the last time? Are those beasts going to appear again with that man in a hooded cloak.

With a sudden curiosity I needed to explore this cave because it is a coincidence that I woke up near it. I got inside the cave where some murals where present. Paintings of stones, meteors, and I think a tidal wave were scattered all over the place but somehow I can't understand the scenarios of each since some of it is partially faded. There are also symbols that I don't know. I think somehow there were people here because logically who would have drawn these?! hahaha.

As I started ascending to the deep part of the cave it became colder and colder as I go deeper but it wasn't that dark since there is a faint light ahead.

I'm shivering already...it's so cold so I walked faster to reach that faint light but I realized that I wasn't going nearer to that light and I think I walked for an hour already so I tried running but as expected I think I'm stuck on loop where you can't proceed until an objective is completed. Then suddenly I felt someone tapped my shoulders.

"Eeek! Who are you?!" I jumped back in a panic.

"No need to worry little one. I am just a mere Illusion created by your presence." An old man with a cloak on that emits a faint light said.

"Eeek! You mean you are a GHOST?!" I shouted.

"I am different from a ghost. As I have said I am—" before he can finish the sentence.

"Merely an Illusion created by my presence...Yes I am not deaf you know!" I finished his own sentence.

"Yes I am. Do you know where you are right now?" He said.

"I absolutely doesn't have a clue at all. But maybe you are a great sage that know everything afterall an old man that glows light is always a powerful wizard." I teasingly said.

"You are on a verge of awakening little one. Some of your dreams are trials for your mind...they are symbols or clues that guides you."  He explained.
