(In The Rain)

"LET ME AT LEAST WALK YOU HOME!"
Cory had left his sister at the game due to her wishes to walk home alone. Shawn Hunter wasn't about to let her walk home alone though. "You aren't walking with me.... not after you smashed Jacks face into the ground!" Lucy yelled at Shawn as he continued to follow her. Clouds were covering the sky as it started to gently rain down on them. "He deserved it!" Shawn replies sharply. Lucy stops walking as she turns around to look at Shawn. She could feel the rain hitting her body as it started to get heavier. "You're not walking home alone in this rain!" Shawn tells her sharply. "Watch me." Lucy scoffs as she quickly walks away from him. Shawn sighed in disbelief as he quickly ran after her. He hated how stubborn she was. Lucy wrapped her arms around her chest as the water started pelting down harder. Her hair and body were now soaked because of the rain. She could hear the sound of someone running after her. "Shawn Hunter leave me alone!" Lucy yelled at him as she turned to face him. "Sorry I don't want you to get kidnapped." Shawn replies sarcastically. Lucy looked up at Shawn causing her breathe to get caught in her throat. His body was also soaking wet as the rain continued to flood down on them. He ran a hand through his wet hair and Lucy couldn't help but get reminded of how attracted she was to him.
"Fine you can walk me home." Lucy tells him in defeat. Shawn smiles as he walks beside her. There was an uncomfortable silence between the two as neither one of them knew what to say. Shawn kept glancing over at Lucy causing his heart to beat quickly. He wondered how someone could look so beautiful while completely drenched in the rain. "You're always itching to get into a fight." Lucy mumbles breaking the silence. "That's not true..... I only get into fights if the other person completely deserved to get hit. Jack..... he deserved it." Shawn argues as tries to keep up with Lucy's quick walking. "Why did he deserve it?" Lucy asked him curiously as she stopped walking. Shawn stopped walking as his eyes locked with Lucy's. He tried to think of why he hit Jack but he couldn't concentrate. He got lost in Lucy's eyes and could only think of her. "I'm waiting for an answer!" Lucy yells causing him to snap back to reality.
"The way he was talking about you.... like you were some object." Shawn mutters angrily as he kicks a puddle of water. His eyes were on the ground as he refused to meet Lucy's eyes knowing if he did he would get lost again. "Says you of all people." Lucy mumbles playfully. "What's that supposed to mean?" Shawn asked her sharply. "It's nothing... forget I said anything." Lucy replies softly. "No... tell me." Shawn says sharply as he grabs her wrist. Lucy's eyes look down at his hand holding her wrist sending chills through her body. "You're a player Shawn.... you go out with a new girl every week." Lucy tells him truthfully. Shawn let's go of her wrist as he runs a hand through his hair. "That's just because I haven't found the right girl yet." Shawn tells her softly. Lucy shivered at the feeling of her soaked body getting hit by more rain. "We should get going.... it's freezing." Lucys teeth chatter as she shivers. "I would give you my jacket but it's now soaking wet." Shawn tells her flirtatiously.
Lucy smiles as they both walk side by side. "Can we run.... I wanna get home soon before I freeze to death?" Lucy asks Shawn as she shivers. "Race you there!" Shawn yells as he starts sprinting away from her. Lucy shakes her head as she sprints after him. Shawn turned back to look at Lucy as she sprinted after him. He laughed as he felt the rain smacking against his face. He couldn't help but laugh and smile when he was around her. They arrived at the Matthew's house and they were running through the driveway. Shawn watched as Lucy slipped on a huge puddle and fell on her butt. "Are you okay?" Shawn yelled nervously as he sprinted back to her. He knelt down beside her as he examined her legs to make sure she was okay. Lucy couldn't respond as she couldn't stop laughing. Shawn immediately laughed with her as he shook his head in disbelief. "Are you hurt?" Shawn asked her softly. Lucy stopped laughing as she pulled up her leg sleeve revealing a little blood on her knee. Her knee was a little cut up and bruised. "It doesn't hurt." Lucy reassured Shawn but he looked so worried. "I can carry you to your house if you want?" Shawn told her softly.
"I'm really fine." Lucy told Shawn softly. "If it hurts to walk... I can carry you." Shawn rambles nervously as he stares at her knee. Lucy gently grabs his face and draws his attention to her eyes. "Look at me.... I'm fine." Lucy tells as she smiles. Their eyes locked as Shawn felt a unfamiliar ticklish feeling in his stomach. Shawn reached his hand towards Lucy's face as he gently moved a piece of her hair behind her ear. The rain continued to hit their bodies but they both didn't care. Lucy felt unable to breathe as Shawns eyes flickered to her lips. Shawn felt an overwhelming urge to kiss her. An uncontrollable urge he had never felt before. "Don't look at me like that."'Lucy whispers softly as she quickly looks away from him. Shawn kept his eyes on her as he was mesmerized by her beauty. All he wanted to do was kiss her for a long time and feel her lips on his. "Look at you like what?" Shawn asked her softly. She looked back up at him as she nervously swallowed. "Like you wanna kiss me." Lucy whispered nervously.
Shawn looked away from her as he tried to pull himself together. He couldn't kiss her. She was Corys sister. He brought his eyes back up to her causing their eyes to meet again. "What if I do want to kiss you?" Shawn asks her flirtatiously. Lucy felt her face get hot at the sound of Shawns words. She had wanted to kiss Shawn her entire life and here he was saying he wanted to kiss her. "I can't kiss you......" Lucy tells him softly. "Why not? It's just a kiss." Shawn tells her playfully. "To you it's just a kiss.... you kiss a million girls and I know this kiss won't mean anything to you........And I don't want anything between us to change all because you wanted to kiss me once." Lucy tells him softly. "Yeah." Shawn mumbles as he quickly looks away from her. He didn't understand why his heart hurt when she said that.
Shawn wanted to kiss her but he knew that he couldn't. He wouldn't do that to Cory and he wouldn't ruin the relationship they had. He had kissed girls before but he had never wanted to kiss them like Lucy. He stood up as he reached his hand down to help her up. She grabbed his hand sending chills through Shawns entire body. "Get inside before you get a cold!" Mrs. Matthew's screamed from the back door. "I should probably get...umm....home." Shawn tells Lucy awkwardly as he refuses to look at her. "Goodbye Shawn." Lucy replies softly. Lucy didn't know what came over as she placed a gentle kiss on Shawns cheek. Shawn had been kissed on the lips many times before but he felt more affected by Lucy kissing his cheek than by any other girl he ever knew. He knew it was an innocent kiss and yet it made him unable to stop thinking about her for the rest of the night.
