"YOU HAVEN'T TALKED TO HIM SINCE?"

Topanga sat on the edge of Lucy's bed as Lucy ranted to her about Shawn. "I warned you about him." Topanga tells her sharply. "I know and I would have listened but.... I mean... come on just look at him..." Lucy says in a dreamy tone as she grabs Topangas arm. She drags her to her door as she quietly opens it. Her door was directly across from Corys room where Shawn and Cory were currently sitting. Lucy watched as Shawn started laughing causing her chest to hurt. "Ugh.... just go talk to him." Topanaga encourages Lucy as she practically pushes her out of the door. "Are you crazy? I can't even look at him..... he made it very clear that he doesn't like me." Lucy replies sharply. She had a sad look on her face as she took one last glance at Shawn from across the hall before slowly closing the door. "You're both miserable without each other.... he may not realize he wants you romantically but he misses his friend." Topanga tells Lucy softly.

"Did something happen between you and Lucy?" Cory asked Shawn curiously. "No.... why.....did she say something?" Shawn asks Cory nervously. He was standing by Corys door that was now barely open as he was peeking through the small crack. His eyes were fixated on Lucy's closed door as he waited for her to come out of her room so he could catch even the smallest glimpse of her. "Something happened...." Cory mutters as he looks up at Shawn. "Let's just say I messed up.... I don't think she wants to be my friend anymore... and that's totally fine..." Shawn rambles as his eyes remain on Lucy's door. "If it was fine you wouldn't be watching her door like a crazy person." Cory tells Shawn sharply. "I don't like when people are mad at me." Shawn tells Cory in a sad tone. "Then go apologize... and send Topanga back in here." Cory tells him as he opens the door. He pushes Shawn out into the hallway. Shawn looks back at him like a lost puppy as Cory gestures for him to go to Lucy's door.

Shawn looked at Lucy's door as he took a nervous deep breath. How was he going to apologize to her? He broke her heart. What was he supposed to say? I know I was an asshole... can we be friends again? And the worst part was that Shawn didn't know if he just wanted to be her friend. It was like his heart wanted something more. He felt sweaty as he stared at her door. He never got nervous. This was so unlike him. He did the only thing he could think of and sprinted down the stairs. "Coward!" Cory screamed at him. Shawn didn't look back as he made it to the bottom of the stairs. He sighed in relief as he sat down at the Matthew's kitchen table. "I'll get you a glass of water Topanaga!" Lucy yelled as Shawn heard her walk down the stairs. His heart stopped as he could hear her footsteps getting closer. His eyes landed on the back door as he debating making a run for it. He knew Topanaga had set him up. "Oh... Hi Shawn." Lucy mumbles as she looks over at him.

He turned to face her and he felt his heart sink to the bottom of his chest. Her eyes locked with his eyes causing his breath to leave his body. She wasn't smiling as big as she normally would and he could tell she was still upset. The room was uncomfortably silent as she grabbed a cup and started filling it up with water. Shawns eyes stayed glued on her but she refused to look at him. "Perfect! Lucy... Shawn.... Morgan's got a bake sale but I have to pick up your father because he got a flat tire..... here's the brownie mix... I'll be back later to pick them up later... love you." Mrs. Matthew's tells them as she quickly rushes out of the kitchen. The silence filled the room again as Shawn awkwardly picked up the brownie mix. "I can do that... you can go back up and hang with Cory." Lucy tells Shawn as she takes the box out of his hands. "I could help you. How could you forget that I am an amazing chef?" Shawn teases her hoping to make her smile. She didn't smile as she looked down at the ingredients. She pushed past Shawn to get to the cabinets. When she walked past him again her arm brushed against his arm sending chills through his body. He just wanted to hug her but he knew she didn't want him especially not now. "Three eggs...." Lucy muttered to herself as she cracked the eggs into the mix.

"I think you need to poor the Uh mix into the bowel." Shawn tells her softly. He gently grabs the box causing his hand to touch her hand. Lucy looked up at him as she felt her heart flutter. It hurt being around him. "Just go back upstairs." Lucy tells him sharply. "I can't.... not when my friend needs me." He whispers as he reaches for her hand. Shawn watched as she aggressively cut open the mix and before he had time to react poured the entire mix over his head. "I deserved that." He says as a laugh leaves his mouth. "I hope you know I despise you." Lucy mumbles as she looks up at him. Shawn wiped the powder off his face as he looks down at her. His hair was now covered in brownie mix.  "Look Lucy.... I was an asshole.... okay.... I'm sorry... I hate not being able to talk to you.... I miss being your friend......" Shawn tells her softly as he grabs her hand. Lucy looks down at his hand holding hers and she can't help but feel chills go through her body. Shawn shook his head back in forth causing the mix to go flying all across the kitchen. Lucy screamed as he brushed the mix out of his hair onto her. She placed her hand on his chest as she pushed him away. "I'm stronger then you!" Shawn taunted her as he got closer to her. Lucy laughed causing Shawn to laugh with her. He missed the beautiful sound of her laughter.

"No!" Lucy screamed as Shawn wrapped his arms around her. He made sure to rub the mix out of his hair and onto her body as he held her tightly against him. He wanted to hold onto her and never let go. He took in her familiar scent as she hugged him back. Lucy clung onto Shawn as she realized just how much she missed him. She couldn't let her feelings get in the way.... she needed her best friend back even if it hurt her heart not being able to love him as more than friends. "Does this mean you forgive me?" Shawn asked her playfully. "Don't push it Shawn." Lucy replied sharply. They both slowly pulled away causing their eyes to meet. Their faces were inches apart. Shawns face and hair were still covered in powder but Lucy couldn't help but stare into his beautiful eyes. She wanted to kiss him as she felt his hands remain on her waist. Shawns eyes flickered to her lips but he quickly looked away from her. He wasn't going to mess up again.... but he couldn't help but wonder why he kept wanting to kiss her. He could usually get over girls easily but he couldn't get Lucy out of his head and he always wanted to kiss her. His mind replayed the words she had told him in the bathroom. She had confessed to loving him. She knew how she felt about him and he had no clue what his feelings meant.
