Checking the recipe she narrowed her eyes before she brought the coriander closer to herself. Despite the conversation about turning their dad vegan, they were still eating meat and so for tonight's dinner she was adamant on making a coconut chicken curry. Humming as she did so she didn't hear the sound of the door opening or the sound of her brother approaching.

"So then," he said and she jumped slightly turning to look at him confused, "you've been with Derek Hale?"

She raised her brow not understanding his strange behaviour as he leaned down against the table and watched her, "how did you know that?" She asked amused. It was strange considering it wasn't like the pair had been walking around town together and had been spotted by numerous people.

"Scott told me."

That made her brows furrow as she stopped looking to him confused, "how did Scott know?" She asked, putting one hand on her hip as she waited for him to speak.

He shifted his weight as if trying to make himself more comfortable within the conversation although that was impossible to do so when he realised that he was very close to being called out. Clearing his throat, he mimicked her actions by putting his hand on his hip. "I don't know, he just knows. More to the point, what are you doing hanging around with a potential murderer?"

She released a small hum of amusement as she turned her attention back to the food, "Derek Hale is no murderer. He wouldn't hurt a soul," she mused and he looked at her confused. Feeling his gaze she rolled her eyes, "I've known him since High school Stiles, he's far too lovely to ever hurt anyone," she added on.

He could only look at her even more baffled by her words, "oh my god you don't understand," she frowned at the words. She'd been hearing that a lot lately and it was irritating her.

"Then why don't you tell me," she urged.

Before he could say anything his phone went off and he was forced to withdraw from the conversation and check his phone. Gritting his teeth together out of annoyance he pushed his phone back into his pocket and looked to his sister in a warning. "This isn't over."

"Mhm. Dinner will be ready by seven," she dismissed as he began to walk out of the house.

She was used to him being strange but as of this moment he was acting more strange than she could comprehend and she didn't understand it. She wanted to, but she didn't.

"I'm starting to think you're stalking me," a familiar voice said and her eyes snapped away from the painting in front of her to look at the man who was stood a few steps away from her. Her face was frozen over with some sick confusion as she tried to figure out how it was possible.

"Oh my god, you are absolutely everywhere," she scoffed but that didn't stop the large smile that was on her face. This wasn't the first holiday he'd shown up at. She'd bumped into him in the middle of New York and Texas as well, "we're not even... we're in Italy...how?!" She couldn't even find the words to say and a smile cracked out on his face as he stepped closer looking over at her. Nothing had changed. They looked exactly the same and it was a strange thing. They hadn't seen each other in a year and now they were with each other in the most random of places. Not even in the same country or the same town they were usually in.

Biting down on her lips, she turned back to the painting and he stepped closer so that their shoulders brushed together. She didn't look at him, but she could feel his gaze on her. It was growing rather annoying if she was quite honest. Not in an unpleasant way, but in a way where she was finding it hard to concentrate.

"You're supposed to be staring at the art," she gritted out and a smirk quirked on his lips.

"I am."
