The sun was harsh and it was cruel against her eyes. Grabbing onto the duvet, she dragged it over her head with a groan in an effort to protect herself from the pounding and the fog which had formed a pain in her head. Everything hurt and for a brief moment, she regretted going out last night. Hearing a chuckle from beside her, her eyes snapped open and with a face that had mascara smudges beneath her eyelids and a sleep-filled irritation within the orbs, she threw back the duvet and looked beside her confused.

It took a few moments for her mind to settle and soon enough she traced the pattern of Derek who was beside her, "you're on my side of the bed," she complained in a soft muttered voice.

"Morning to you as well," he mused, rolling his eyes as he did.

Groaning out of the pain the hangover brought, she dragged the duvet away from him and wrapped it around her own head and body as if she was ET before she flopped down to use him as a pillow. The joy which she should have experienced was dampened by the headache she was experiencing.

"Did someone be stupid with alcohol?" He teased, wrapped his arm around her body for a hug. He missed this feeling more than anything.

"You're not allowed to say anything. You can't get drunk. You know nothing," she complained her voice slurred and tired. "When did you get back?"

"About eleven last night," he admitted and she hummed, "how was your birthday?"

"Mia walked into a lampost...and then she fell into the bin," she muttered and he frowned trying to remember who Mia was.

He hummed to show that he'd heard her before he pressed his lips to the small part of her forehead he could get to from beneath the duvet. "I missed you."

"I missed you too," she admitted, closing her eyes again to rest them, "you were gone for so long...longer than expected."

"Yeah, I got caught by some hunters."

Her eyes snapped open and she looked up to him confused, "what?" She asked confused.

"Yeah, the Calavera's decided that they wanted to electrocute both me and Peter for a week straight." He said it so casually but the pain in her head seemed to completely disappear as she tried to work it out. That wasn't something that was casual nor something you just happen to mention. Before she could even ask the stream fo questions which she wanted to, he began to talk, "I'm fine," he assured, "they kept asking for a she-wolf...I don't know any she-wolf other than Cora and we obviously weren't going to give her up. Braeden saved us."

"W-"

"She's a trained supernatural hunter for hire," he explained in the simplest way he possibly could.

She thought about it for a moment before she shook her head, "there are too many characters. I don't like this anymore," she finalised, rolling away from him causing him to chuckle.

"Hold on," he urged, reaching into the drawer and he pulled out a deep and yet small box. He passed it over to her and she looked down at it hesitantly before glancing back at him.

"What is it?"

"Well open it and find out."

"I'm not going to get bitten or injured by whatever's in that box, am I?" She asked and he scoffed.

"No, you're not. Now open it."

Pulling back, she sat up but was careful to keep the duvet wrapped around her tightly. Poking her hands out from beneath the sheets she took the box and looked at him one last time out of suspicion. Glancing back down, she opened the box and pulled out the tissue paper to see what was inside it.
