Hearing the sound of banging on the door, Margo forced her eyes open with a groggy ache seeping into her bones and head as she pushed herself up. There was only her in the bed and there was no Derek; he'd been gone quite a while judging from how cold it was. Feeling something stuck to her forehead, she pushed herself up so that she was sat up and pulled it off.
'Gone out. Back in a bit.' It was definitely Derek's handwriting.
Another bang came at the door, and she climbed out of the bed fixing her nightie as she plodded over to the door. Swinging it open, she glared at Peter who was stood on the other side. "I would have let myself in but the alarms on and Derek changed the password."
"I think that was to keep you out," she muttered as he walked past her and she closed the door before brushing her hand over her head in an effort to make it neater.
"Well of course it was, but that doesn't mean it's going to work," he scoffed and she hummed wanting to know what he was doing there. It was still pitch black so she knew she was supposed to be in bed and catching up on her beauty sleep. Feeling a chill pass over her she walked over to the bed and picked up her cardigan before sliding it onto her shoulders.
"What are you doing here?" She asked realising that he had no intention of just openly saying it without being prompted.
Hearing movement, Peter frowned looking around the loft, "Derek? You here?" He asked and Margo frowned.
"No he's gone out," she said.
"Derek?" Peter called out just as he turned to face Margo again and his eyes widened slightly, "Margo love you might want to move to the side," he said and her brows furrowed but before she could ask what he was talking about something swung out hitting against her head and she fell down to the floor with a painful siren screeching in her head.
The mute stepped forward throwing his hawk into Peter's back and he groaned out in pain falling down to the floor. Trying to push past the heavy painful weight, Margo turned around trying to see the Mute but she could barely see a thing as everything had turned so blurry.
"Don't worry, Peter-- Derek's next."
Then everything went black.
Opening the door to the loft, Derek looked around only for panic to shoot through him as he saw Peter with an axe in his back and an unconscious Margo stood on the other side of the room. Rushing past Peter, he crouched down in front of Margo and reached out taking her neck in his hands gently so that he could support her head, "Margo?" He asked, glancing over at Peter, "what happened?"
"A creature came out from over there and attacked us," he groaned out, and Derek quickly turned his panic to Margo, "don't be dramatic. She's just unconscious it's me you should be worrying about!" Gritting his teeth out of annoyance, he hauled her up before lying her down on the bed and walking over to Peter.
Grabbing onto the handle of the axe, he yanked it out of him to which Peter released a short roar of pain.
Feeling the strong thuds and pain in her head, Margo slowly woke up and turned her head trying to figure out what had happened. She couldn't remember how she'd gone unconscious for the second time. Forcing her hands on the mattress, she pushed herself up before blinking away the harsh lights.
A siren was in her ears and she couldn't tell you how it happened. All she knew was that everything hurt.
"The axe was laced with wolfsbane. I don't know the species, so I'm going to have to burn it out," Derek said as he reached down to get the blow torch.
