"Question, why are you in the kitchen?" Sebastian asked as he walked into the room. He looked up from his phone, eyes going wide.

"Bûche de Noël," Kurt answered, gesturing to the cake. "That's why."

Sebastian walked over, sitting at the counter, eyes never leaving the yule log. "Oh my god."

Kurt bit his lip nervously. "A little birdie told me you were a fan but couldn't find it in Ohio, so, ta-da. Probably not as good as how they make it in France, but it's my best attempt."

"It's beautiful," he breathed. "You've even got the little meringue mushrooms. I..."

He took out his phone, pulling something out of his pouch case. He handed it to Kurt.

It was a little laminated photo, of a smiling woman proudly holding a Bûche de Noël. It looked incredibly similar to Kurt's.

"Who is this?" Kurt asked softly.

"My aunt. Every Christmas, she made Bûche de Noël. No matter what, she always figured out a way to get at least a slice to me. The first year I didn't have any was Christmas when I was thirteen, after all the crazy stuff happened and I moved here. I've never been able to find it here in Ohio."

"Oh. What... What happened to her?"

He sighed. "I wish I knew. I've been trying to get in contact with her for years. For all I know, she's dead."

"For all you know, she's alive and trying to find you too," Kurt countered, setting a plate in front of himself and one in front of Sebastian. He offered Sebastian the knife. "Would you care to do the honors?"

Sebastian chuckled, cutting the cake. Kurt was relieved when it tasted good, but still worried it wouldn't measure up to his expectations. The recipe was a little out-there, but everyone who said they tried it loved it, so he trusted them.

His eyes widened as he ate a bite. "Where's this recipe from?" he asked cautiously.

"Um, let me find it." Kurt opened his laptop back up, finding the website. "Here."

He covered his mouth with his hand. "Oh my god."

"What?" Kurt asked anxiously, trying to lean over to see the screen. "What is it?"

"It—" Sebastian stopped, taking Kurt's face in his hands and kissing him. Just laying one on him.

"You're the best person in the world," Sebastian said when he broke away, letting go and turning to the contact information.

Kurt blinked several times. "Suddenly I am very, very glad I made this cake," he said, Sebastian laughing. "What is it?"

"Somehow, because you're absolutely magic, you found my aunt's recipe. This is her website. Well, her wife's website. I've been trying to find her for years and couldn't but you find her in a day through a cake recipe."

"Oh my god, seriously?" Kurt asked excitedly, going around the table to look at the screen. "Sebastian, that's awesome!"

He was grinning. "It really is. This is best Christmas ever."

"Because you found her?"

"Partially. Partially because I found her, partially because I'm having Bûche de Noël again, partially because I finally kissed you."

Kurt blushed hugging Sebastian from behind as he typed. "And Christmas hasn't even happened yet. Imagine what could still happen."

Sebastian sent the message, looking back at Kurt. "Another kiss?" he asked hopefully.

Kurt smiled, kissing him again.
