"Maybe I have Sebastian Smythe down to the office, please?" the speakers announced.

"Wonder why that's for," Blaine said aloud.

Jeff shrugged. "I think we're getting a new student today."

Nick frowned. "But showing around transfers is your job. Why Smythe?"

"Jeff's all touchy-feely and he has the personality of a brick," Thad said. "New kid could be shy."

"I could hardly speak to another person and Jeff still showed me around," Blaine pointed out.

"Maybe he's his roommate," Jeff said, clearly not as bothered by at as they were.

"Yikes. I feel bad for the boy if that's true," Thad said.

When Sebastian reached the office, he knocked nervously. Why did they need him?

"Come in," the headmaster's voice answered.

He pushed open the door cautiously, stepping inside. "You needed me, sir?"

"Sebastian, this is Kurt. He's a transfer student and your new roommate."

Sebastian blinked, leaning forwards a bit. "I'm sorry, my what now?"

"Your roommate."

"Sir, you're aware that I'm not supposed to have a roommate, right?"

"Your uncle gave me permission to break that rule. I think you two will get along nicely."

Sebastian felt like he had been slapped. He'd be needing to talk to his uncle.

"Anyway, I'd appreciate it if you could show him to your dorm," the headmaster said.

Sebastian nodded numbly, not able to believe his uncle. He stepped outside and a boy he hadn't noticed before followed him at a bit of a distance.

He opened his mouth to greet the boy but no sound came out, so he shut it before he looked like an idiot.

The boy kept nervously glancing at him, as well as around the hall. It was as if he was expecting someone to ambush him. He didn't seem eager to talk.

Sebastian's mind was mulling over why the headmaster thought this was a good idea. Was it because the boy was shy? Did he think that made anything different?

He pulled out his key when they reached the dorm and unlocked it.

"Kurt?" a voice asked incredulously.

Sebastian glanced over, seeing that it was Blaine. Kurt looked over as well, but as soon as he saw who it was he slipped into the dorm.

Sebastian raised an eyebrow and entered the dorm himself, not sure what that was.

Kurt's suitcase had already been put on the empty bed in the amount of time that Sebastian had been gone, so he didn't have to point out who's was whose.
