"I talked to Sebastian."
"Yes?" David prompted.
"He actually talked to me. I told him that we wanted him on the Warblers and he said 'No, thank you.' Also, his voice is beautiful. I told him he could take us to Nationals, and he said we should just have someone other than Blaine sing. He doubted we'd heard anyone on the council sing."
"He's right," one of them said. "I don't think I've heard any of you sing."
"Surely that's not true." Nobody responded to Wes. "Wait, really?"
"Wes has a beautiful voice and he should definitely sing," David said.
"He exaggerates," Wes said quickly, shooting him a look. "I'm not anything special."
"Uh, excuse you, you're everything special."
Wes looked at the others. "Seriously, he's exaggerating."
"I'm not," David told them.
"He is."
"You two are bickering like a couple," someone commented, laughing. Most of them laughed as well.
Wes and David looked away from each other, both looking at the boy like 'what-did-you-just-say.'
He got nervous. "Sorry, I know you two are like, straight, and—"
"You're serious?" Wes asked, looking stunned.
"About what?"
He pointed to David. "He is my boyfriend."
"You're gay?" someone else asked.
"Have you heard my voice?" Wes seemed stunned. "Oh my god, none of you knew? Nobody even thought about it?"
They were all quiet, and he shook his head. "Wow. Anyway, looks like the whole Sebastian issue is solved, we—"
"What? No, he said he didn't want to join," someone interrupted.
"Exactly, we have his answer. That's that."
"No, we need him on our team. We could finally win!"
"You are not harassing the boy to join the Warblers," Wes said sternly. "That's not how we do things. You have an answer, and you'll leave him alone."
"No means no," a voice in the back of the room piped up mockingly.
Hunter turned towards it. "Shut the fuck up, he's right. If you bother him he'll just want to join less."
"You don't even want him on the team!"
"You know? You're right. You should totally keep annoying him to join the Warblers, I'm sure he'll change his mind," he said sarcastically.
They fell silent, knowing he was right.
